HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2422., 0 RESOLUTION N0. 2422 E A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THAT THE PUMP AND GAS ENGINE TO BE INSTALLED WITH THE NECESSARY EQUIPMENT AND APPURTENANCES CAN BE DONE MORE ECONOMICALLY BY THE PURCHASE OF MATERIAL AND SUPPLIES FURNISHED AT A LOWER PRICE ON THE OPEN MARKET AND BY DAY LABOR AND THAT THE CITY AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF SAID SUPPLIES ON THE OPEN MARKET. The City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby resolve as follows: Section 1. That bids for the purchase of pump and gas engine and other equipment to be installed on the property of the Agricultural Water Company in the City of Azusa were opened on June 19, 1950 at the time set for the opening of said bids and the matter having been referred to the City Engineer and Superintendent of Water, Virgil D. Smith and the matter having been taken up and considered by the City Council on June 23, 1950 and the City Council having reviewed all bids presented. Section 2. The City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby declare that the purchase of material and the construction of facilities at the Agricultural Water Company property con- sisting of the installation of pump engines and appurtenances can be more economically performed by day labor and/or materials more economically purchased on the open market. Section 3. It is further resolved that Virgil D. Smith, Superintendent of the water department be authorized and de- signated as the agent of the City for the purpose of purchasing on the open market the necessary pump, gas engine and install the necessary equipment, wiring and appurtenances on the property of the Agricultural Water Company and that said Virgil D. Smith be authorized to expend the sum of not more than $7,540.50 plus tax and to proceed without further action of the council. Section 4. That the water department of the City of Azusa is hereby authorized and directed to proceed with the purchase • of labor and material on the open market and to proceed with- out further action of the council. Section 5. Be it further resolved that the Mayor shall sign this Resolution and the City Clerk shall attest the same and certify to the passage and adoption thereof.
