RESOLUTION NO. 2395
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY,
CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE
OFFICIAL COUNT AND CANVASS OF THE VOTERS
OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD
IN SAID CITY ON APRIL 11, 1950.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as
11 WHEREAS, a general municipal election was held and
12 conducted in the City of Azusa, Los Angeles County, State of
13 California, on Tuesday, the 11th day of April, 1950, as required
14 by law; and
15 WHEREAS, it appears that notice of said election was
16 duly and regularly given and that there were five voting
17) precincts established for said election consisting of consolidat-
18 ion of regular city precincts for holding State and County
19 elections as the same were and are established by the Board of
20 Supervisors of Los Angeles County, California; that election
21 officials were appointed and election supplies furnished and that

22 in all respects said election was held and conducted and returns
23 thereof made and. declared in time, form and manner as required
24 by the General Election Laws of the State of California
25 governing elections in cities of the fifth and sixth classes;

27 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Azusa met at
28 the Council Chambers of said Council on Tuesday, the 18th day
29 of April, 1950, to convass the returns of said election and
30 install the newly elected officers, whereupon said Council found
31 that the number of votes cast, the names of the persons voted for,
32 the result of said election and other matters required by law to

1 be as hereinafter stated.

Now, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved and declared

as follows:

5 That said regular Municipal Election was held and
6 conducted in the City of Azusa, California, on Tuesday, the 11th
7 day of April, 1950, in the time, form and manner as required by
8 law.
9 That there were five voting precincts established for
10 the purpose of holding said election, consisting of a
11 consolidation of the regular election precincts established for
12 holding general, state and county elections.

That the whole number of votes cast in said election

in said City of Azusa was 2532-

That the names of the
persons voted
for, the offices

for which they were voted, and
the number of
votes which were

received in the entire City of

1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED and determined that at said
2 General Municipal Election, Hickory S. Jackson, Art Seltzer and
3 Karl Jones were each elected to the office of member of the City
4 Council of the City of Azusa, California, each for a term of
5 four years; also that Stephen E. Skidmore was elected to the
6 office of City Treasurer of said City of Azusa, California for

7 the imli term of famr years; that Proposition No. I was carried
8 with a majority vote and is hereby declared to be passed and
9 adopted as an initiative ordinance of the City of Azusa; that
10 Proposition No. 2, not having received a majority vote of the
11 electors voting, is declared lost; that Proposition No. 3 was
12 carried with a majority vote and is hereby declared approved and
13, effective:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall
immediately make and deliver to each of .said persons so elected
16Ia Certificate of Election signed by her and duly authenticated;
17
that she shall also impose, or have imposed, the constitutional
18
oath of office upon said person so elected as members of the
19
City Council and shall have them subscribe thereto and file the
20
same in her office; and thereupon, each and all of said persons
21
so elected to said respective offices shall be inducted in said
22

respective office to which they have been elected.
