HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2343RESOLUTION NO. 2343 11 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA PROPOSING TO INSTITUTE PROCEEDING FOR THE IIPROVEI.ENT OF ANGELENO AVENUE IN SAID CITY AND ORDERING THE PREPARATION OF A A?ELIMINARY REPORT Be it Resolved by the City Council of the City of Azusa. SECTION 1. That the public interest, convenience and necessity require and the City Council of the City of Azusa proposes to institute proceedings for and hereby determines that the nature, location and extent of such improvement shall be as follows, to -wit: The improvement of Angeleno Avenue on both sides of the street between Second Street and Third Street, and also on Third Street on the South side of the Street between Orange Avenue and a line drawn through a point fifteen (15) feet Easterly of the East property line of Angeleno Avenue with certain grading, the construction of Portland cement concrete curbs and gutters and paving the driveway aprons with pre -mix pavement two inches thick, also the North side of Second Street between the Southerly prolongation of the Easterly line of Lot 18 of Tract No. 13736 as per map recorded in Book 275 Pages 48 to 50 of Maps, Records of Los Angeles County, California and San Gabriel Avenue with certain grading, the construction of Portland cement concrete curbs and gutters; and also the improvement of Orange Avenue at its intersection with Third Street. SECTION 2. The said proposed work or improvement in the opinion of the City Council of the City of Azusa is of more than local or ordinary public benefit and said City Council hereby proposes that the district in the City of Azusa to be benefited by said work or improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs of and expenses thereof shall in general include the lots and parcels of land abutting upon or contiguous to said Angeleno Avenue between Second Street end Third Street, also the North side of Second Street between the Southerly prolongation of the Easterly line of Lot 18 of Tract No. 13736 as per map recorded in Book 275 Pages 48 to 50 of Maps, Records of Los Angeles County, California and San Gabriel Avenue, and also on Third Street on the South side of the Street between Orange Avenue and Angeleno Avenue. -, W • • SECTION 3. That the City Council of said City hereby proposes to proceed under and in accordance with the provisions of the Improvement Act of 1911 as Amended. SECTION 4. That the City Council of said City hereby directs and orders the City Engineer and Superintendent of Streets to prepare a written report upon said proposed improvement in accordance with the provisions of that certain Act of the Legislature of the State of California known as "Special Assessment Investigation, Limitation and Majority Protest Act of 1931" as Amended.
