HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 22891 2 3 4 5 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 FUA 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 0 0 RESOLUTION N0. 2289 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING STEPHEN E. SKIDMORE TO THE OFFICE OF CITY TREASURER OF SAID CITY AND ALSO TO THE POSITION OF CITY TAX COLLECTOR AND FIXING HIS SALARY FOR SAID POSITIONS. The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: WHEREAS, Thomas L. Munson has tendered his resignation to the City Council of the City of Azusa as City Treasurer and City Tax Collector, and WHEREAS, the City Council has accepted the resignation of said Thomas L. Munson both as City Treasurer and City Tax Collector, and WHEREAS, the office of the City Treasurer and City Tax Collector are now vacant, and WHEREAS it is urgently necessary that said positions be filled at once: ' THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Stephen E. Skidmore is hereby appointed to fill the office of City Tax Collector for the unexpired term of the said Thomas L. Munson, resigned, and that he the said Stephen E. Skidmore is also hereby appointed as License Tax Collector and for other miscellaneous work for the City, all at a salary of $190.00 per month. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Stephen E. Skidmore be and he is hereby appointed to the position of City Treasurer at a salary of -860.00 per month. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the term of said Stephen E. Skidmore as City Tax Collector shall be subject to the further action of the council at any time and that he the said Stephen E. Skidmore shall hold his position as Tax Collector at the pleasure of the council. At the termination of the employment of said Stephen E. Skidmore as Tax Collector, whether by reason of death, action of the City Council in declaring the position vacant, or declaring the termination thereof,or for any reason whatsoever whether herein specifically mentioned or not, said employee shall be paid to the date of such termination only and not for any unexpired portion of the then calendar month, such payment for such month to be in that proportion of the employee's compensation as the number of days which the employee has served in that month bears to thirty days. 1 21 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 0 E BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all reference to the said Stephen E. Skidmore in Resolution No. 22 of the City Council be and is hereby eliminated from said Resolution, but that in all other respects said Resolution remain intact. Hynes, City Clerk of the City of Azusa, Los Angeles County, California, do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa, at a regular meeting of said City Council held in the regular Council Chambers of said City Council_ in said City, on the 7th day of February, 1940, and that the same was passed and adopted ,by the following vote of the Council: AYES: Councilmen: Nasser, Ortuno, Memnesheimer, �vlalone, Jumper NOES: None ABSENT: None City Clerk v the City of Azusa.
