Present at roll call;Trustees Moon,Meier and Pres- ident Case,and City Clerk. Absent;Trustees Peirce and Bierbower and City Attorney. Minutes of last regular meeting held September. 19, 1921 and Special Session held September 21,1921 were read and approved as read. 'On motion duly weeks vacation carried T.B.Daugherty was granted one %-DAUGHERTY GRANTED commencing October 10,1921 VACATION. 329'•. A request for a license was received from the Queen CARNIVAL LICENSE City Shows commencing October llth.and on motion GRANTED QUEEN CITY duly carried the same was granted. SHOWS. City Attorney and Trustee Peirce now present. Requests for Pool and Billiard licenses were re- APPLICATIONS FOR POOL ceived from C.Perez and A.Simon and on motion the =•:•_!AND BILLIARD LICENSE were taken under advisement. TAIM UNDER ADVISEMENT It was moved that the City ',ngineer be instructed to modify the specifications for the building of Pasadena Avenue so as .to permit o8 the use of one layer of No.l rock between the south line of let. street and the north line of Broadway,in addition to that now used with the understanding that the cost is not to exceed the..amount contemplated in .• the engineering. Carried by the following vote; Ayes-Peirce,Moonj Meier.Case, Noes;None, Absent;Bierbover. On motion an Ordinance entitled; An ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY 'OF AZUSA AMENDING ORDINANCE N0.194 OF SAID CITY ENTITLED,°AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA PROVIDING FOR THE REGULATION OF THE ELECTRIC SYSTEM OF SAID CITY AND ESTABLISHING THE RATES FOR ELECTRIC SERVICE BY SAID CITY AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO.185 IN RELATION THERETO," ADOPTED DECEMBER 16TH.,1918,BY ADDING THERETO A NEW SECTION TO BE DESIGNATED AS SECTION 8JOF SAID ORDINANCE NO.194 ,PROVIDING FOR DISCONTINUANCE OF '- SERVICE FOR NON°PAYMENT OF SERVICE BILLS AND ESTABA LISHING A RECONNECTION CHARGE.,was taken up for it's first reading. The Ordinance was read. declared On motion the Ordinance was read for the first time and laid over to the next meeting. It was regularly moved and carried that the City Engineer be authorized to furnish Mr Muscovitz a grade between Azusa Avenue and Alameda Avenue on the south side of Second Street. Several applications for the position of Traffic Officer were received and on motion were referred to the Sanitary and Police Committee for report. It was moved that Mr James E.Barker be employed by the City of Azusa in addition to the regular 'employment now held by him and at a further com- pensation,to take such steps as he may deem advis- able to secure a modification of the rates for electric energy to be paid by the City of Azusa to the Southern California Edison Company which will result in a reduction of the annual bill for elec- tric energy. That such asammmatlaw employment be u•� undertaken by Mr Barker with the express underst- anding that he is not to receive any additional compensation therefor until and in the event that he shall accomplish some reduction in which case CHANGE SPECIFICATIONS ON PASADENA AVIOUE. Carried by the following vote; Ayes,Beirce.Moons Neier.Case, Noes;None. Absent Bierbower. It was regularly moved tnd carried that the office of Building Inspector be declared vacant. On motion duly carried J.O.Durrell was appointed to the office of Building Inspector. The Supt, of Light and Water was on motion author- ized to purchase the following supplies; 20 meter boxes.l 30x3 Tire.13/4 Pipe Die, 30 Weather proof sockets,50 100 watt lamps,l coil No.8 wire,l 10 K.V.A.Transfo rmer.10 disks for water meters.10 gear trains for water meters. Carried by the following vote;Ayes-Peirce.Moon, Meier.Case. Noes,None. Absent;Bierbower, It was regularly moved and carried that when the Board adjourn it adjourn to meet on Monday.October lOth.1921 at 7 P.M. ,331 BARKER RUPLOYED'TO SECURE REDUCTION IN ELECTRIC RATE.
