HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2632RESOLUTION NO. 2632 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, DETERMINING THE GENERAL PREVAILING RATE OF PER DIEM WAGE AND THE GENERAL PREVAILING RATE FOR LEGAL HOLIDAY AND OVERTIME WORK IN THE CITY OF AZUSA, FOR CERTAIN CRAFTS OR TYPES OF WORKMEN. (Assessment District No. 1951-4) WHEREAS, this City Council of the City of Azusa has ordered certain street work or improvement, said work or improvement being more particularly described in its Reso- lution No. 2602 adopted by this City Council on,April 7, 1952; and WHEREAS, this City Council has ascertained the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which said work is to be performed for each craft or type of workman needed to execute the contract for said work, and this City Council has ascertained the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work in said locality for each craft or type of workman needed to execute said contract; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council, of the City of Azusa, California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows:. Section 1. That the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which said work is to be performed for each craft or type of workman needed to execute the contract for said work is determined to be as follows, to wit: CLASSIFICATION �- Laborers, General or Construction Operators and Tenders of pneumatic and electric tools, vibrating machines and similar mechanical tools not separately classified herein ............................... All other foremen not herein separately classified shall be paid not less than 12-1/2 cents per hour more than the Journeyman rate for the craft involved. PER DIEM WAGE $19.04 13.36 APPRENTICES: May be employed in conformity with Section 1777.5 of the, California Labor Code. The general prevailing rates for overtime work in said locality for each eraft.or type, of workman needed to execute said contract is determined to be as follows: CARPENTERS - Double time for all overtime. CEMENT FINISHERS - Time and one-half for the first three hours after the regularly constituted straight time shift, and all other overtime shall be double time. WATCHMEN - Time and one-half for all time worked in e.xcess..of e.i.ght (8) hours per day and for the sixth co:nae.cutive, day worked; and double time for the seventh consecutive day worked. Watchmen shall .a.l.ao .r-ecei,ve..t.ime and one-half for holidays except where a holiday falls on the 7th consecutive day, worked,. which shall be .double time. LABORERS, TRUCK DRIVERS AND OPERATING ENGINEERS - Time and one-half except Sundays and Holidays which are double time. ALL OTHER.CRAFTS•ANA TYPES.OF WORKMEN - Not less than one and one-half (1-1/2) times the said prevailing hourly rate of wage. Said rates are determined to be the general prevailing rates for working.time on Sundays and the following seven legal holidays, to wit: New Year's Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Armistice Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If any 0 0. of the above named holidays occur on Sunday, the Monday next succeeding shall be considered a legal holiday. . . Section 2. Said general prevailing rates shall be specified in the call for bids for said contract and in the contract itself.
