L. 2 3 4 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZIISA DETERMINING AND DECLARING THE VOTE CAST AT THE SPECIAL rJ ELECTION HELD ON THE 30th DAY OF MARCH, 1934, IN THE CITY OF AZIISA UPON THE FOLLOWING PROPOSITION TO -WIT: "SHALL SEWER REVENUE BONDS 6 OF THE CITY OF AZIISA, CALIFCR NIA, IN THE SUM OF $148,000.00 BE IS- SUED FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACQUIRING AND CONSTRUCTING A SEWAGE SYSTEM 7 INCLUDING TREATMENT PLANT, COLLECTING SEWERS AND APPURTENANCES, TO SERVE FR OPERTY WITHIN THE DISTRICT SET FORTH AND OUTLINED IN RESOL' 8 TION OF INTENTION N0. 1378 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF SAID CITY OF AZUSA?" 9 10 The City Council of the City of Azusa does 11 resolve as follows: - 12 13 WHEREAS the City Council of the City of 14 Azusa did by Resolution No. 1391 , duly adopted on the 5th day i 15 of March, 1934y and duly approved by the Mayor of said City on 16 the5th day of March,' 1934, cause And order to be held in said 17 City, a special District election on Friday the 30th day of March, 18 1934, for the purpose of submitting -to the qualified voters of 19 the District within said City as outlined in said Resolution of 20 Intention No. 1378, the following proposition: - 21 "Shall Sewer Revenue Bonds of the City of Azusa.. California, in the sum of $148,000.00 be issued 22 for the purpose. of acquiring and constructing a sewage system including treatment plant, collect - 23 ing sewers and appurtenances, to serve property within the District set forth and outlined in Resolution of Intention No. 1378 of the City 24 Council of said City of Azusa?" 25 and 26 WHEREAS the said Resolution No. 1391 i 27 calling and ordering said, Special Election was certified and 28 published in the form, time and manner required by law as appears 29 from the Certificate of M. A.. Ellington, City Clerk of said City, 30 and from the Affidavit of Neal Van Sooy, Publisher of the Azusa 31 Herald & Pomotropic,both on file in the offices of the City Clerk 32 df said City; and - 1 - 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 i WHEREAS it appears,. that said Special Election was duly held in accordance with.the 1 ovisions of the law of the State of California and of said Resolution and that the polls of said elec- tion were kept open* during the time required by law and by said Resolution, to -wit, from 6 o1clock A.M. until 7 o1olock P.M. of said 30th day of March, 19341; and that said Special Election was held and the vote thereat received and canvassed and returns there of ascertained, determined and declared in the time for and manner required by the laws of the State of California and by said Resolu tion; and WHEREAS on this day to -wit, Monday the 2nd day of April 1934, the City Council of said City of Azusa met at their usual place of meeting and proceeded to and did canvass the returns of said Special Election as required. by law and by said Resolution an thereupon the result of said Special Election having been found to be as hereinafter stated: IT 16 HEREBY RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND DECLARED: - That the proposition voted upon at said Special Election was stated upon the ballott submitted to the qualified voters of said City thereat as follows: - "Shall Sewer Revenue Bonds of the City of Azusa, California, in the sum of $'148,000.00 be issued for the purpose of acquiring 'and .constructing a sewage system including treat - went plant, collecting sewers and appurten- ances, to serve property within the District set forth and outlined in Resolution of In- tention No. 1378 of the City 88uncil of said City of Azusa?" . .I 2. That by'•said Resolution No. 1,391 the said District within the City of Azusa as outlined in said Resolu- tion of Intention No.,1378 was consolidated into and was constituted one Election Precinct, the external boundaries of which were co -terminus with the boun- daries of the District as set forth in said Resolution _ 2 _ 1 of Intention�N6* 1378 and that said Special 2 Election Precinct had one polling place, to - 3 wit, the City Auditorium located in Block 30, 4 of said City of Azusa, between Alameda and 5 Dalton Avenues. 6 7 3. That the number of votes cast at said Special Election was 530 The total number of 8. votes cast at said Special Election in favor 9 10 of said proposal was 113 The total 11 number of votes cast thereat against said 12 proposal was 414 13 14 WHEREFORE it is further resolved$. deter - 15 mined and declared that less than one-half of all the voters votin 16 at said Special Election in the District within said City voted in 17 favor of said proposal hereinbefore set forth and that they did 18 thereby fail to authorize the issuance of Sewer Revenue Boad a of tl 19 City of Azusa to the amount of and for the object and purpose stat 20 ed in said Resolution No. 1391 and that therefore the Revenu 21 Bonds of said City will not be issued to defray the cost of the im 22 provement specified in.sa.id proposal and to the amount therein 23 stated. 24 I hereby certify that the foregoing 25 Resolution was adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa 26 1 at a regular meeting held April 2, 1934, by the following vote of 27 the Council, to -wit: - 28 AYES: Councilmen: Mace, Madison, Johnson, Morden, Meier. 29 NOES: None.
