A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA CALLING AND(PROVIDING FOR AND GIVING NOTICE OF A
SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON FRIDAY THE
30TH DAY OF,MARCHs 1934s FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING
TO THE OWNERS OF IMPROVED REAL PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN
THE AREA OF SAID CITY DESCRIBED IN RESOLUTION NO. 1378 -OF
THE CITY COUNCIL OF SAID CITY, THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONo
TO -WIT:- SHALL SEWER REVENUE BONDS OF THE CITY OF AZUSAs
9ALIFORNIA0 IN THE SUM OF $1489000.00 BE ISSUED FOR THE
PURPOSE OF ACQUIRING AND CONSTRUCTING A SEWAGE SYSTEM
INCLUDING TREATMENT PLANT# COLLECTING SEWERS AND APPUR-
TENANCES TO SERVE PROPERTY WITHIN THE DIS TRICT SET FORTH
AND OUTLINED IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1378 OF THE
CITY COUNCIL OF SAID CITY OF AZUSA?; PROVIDING.F OR AND
DESIGNATING AN ELECTION PRECINCT; DESIGNATING THE POLLING
PLACE; APPOINTING ELECTION OFFICIALS AND AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASE OF ELECTION SUPPLIES FOR SAID ELECTION.
follows: -
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as
WHEREAS on the 5th day. of Februarys 1934, the City
Council of the City of Azusa adopted Resolution of Intention No.
1378 entitled "A Resolution of the City Council of'the City of
Azusa Declaring Its Intention to Construct and Operate a Sewage
System Including Treatment Plants Collecting Sewers and Appurten-
ances and to Issue and Sell Sewer Revenue Bonds to the United
States of America and Fixing a•Time and Place for Hearing on the
Formation of the District"; and
WHEREAS the necessary Petitions as provided by law
have been filed with -the City Clerk of the City of Azusa by owners
of improved real property within the District described in said
Resolution of Intention requesting said City Council to submit the
proposition of acquiring and constructing the proposed works to an
election of property owners in the Distriot described in said Res-
olution of Intention; and

WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Azusa at
the time set for hearing of protests and filing of Petition to
submit said question to the owners of improved property located
within the said District, found and determined that the Petition
so filed was sufficient under the law:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that a special election
is hereby called and shall be held in the hereinafter described
district in the City of Azusa, State of California, on Friday the

30th day of March, 1934, at which there shall be submitted to the

owners of improved real property within the District described in
said Resolution of Intention No, 1378 the following proposition
to -wit: -
Shall Sewer Revenue Bonds of the City of
Azusa, California, in the sum of $148,000.00 be
issued for the purpose of acquiring and construct-
ing a sewage s)s tem including treatment plant, col-
lecting sewers and appurtenances to serve property
within the district set forth and outlined in Res-
olution of Intention No. 1378 of the City Council
of said City of Azusa?
The exterior boundaries of said district are gener-
ally described as follows, to-wit:-

IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that for the purpose of hold-
ing such special municipal election said district is consolidated
into and shall constitute and is hereby designated and declared to
be one election precinct. Said election precinct shall have one
polling place which shal'1 be in the City Auditorium located in
Block 30 of said City between Alameda and Dalton Avenuess, and that
the following named persons are hereby appointed election officials
in said Precinct for such eldetion:-
Inspector: JOSEPH C. MIIEHE
Judges: ELMER L-': JONES
MRS. GLADYS HENDRICSS
Clerks: MRS._LYDIA H. JESTER
MRS. NETTIE HETH.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the polls of said spec-
ial election shall be.open at 6 o'clock in the morning of said
election day and shall be kept open until 7 o'olook on the after-
noon of the same day# when the polls shall be closed except and
provided however that if at the said hour of closing there are any
voters in the polling place or in the line at the door thereof who
are qualified to vote and have not been able to vote since appear-
ing,, the polls shall be kept. open a sufficient time to enable them
to vote.. but no person who shall arrive at the polls after 7 o'cloc
on the afternoon of said day shall be entitled to vote although the
polls may have been open when he arrived.
THAT ONLY those personss, firma or corporations who

are recorded on the.books of the Assessor and Tax Collector as
being the owner's of lots'or parcels of land in the said district
to be served, and which have been improved by buildings that would
be subject to service -of the server system on completion of the
projects shall be quglified to vote at said election.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and
she is hereby directed to cause said Resolution of Intention No.
1378 to be printed and that she shall mail a copy thereofs enclos-
ed in an envelope ivith a sample ballot to each voter at least ten
days prior to said election. .That notice of such special election
shall be published by the City Clerk as required by law in the
Azusa Herald & Pomotropio. That in all manners and particulars
not herein set forth; said election shall be held in the manner
provided by law for the holding of munioipal,elections in said
City of Azusa.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the compensation of the
said election officials be and the same is hereby fixed at the sum
of $6.00 each for said election.
THAT THE City' Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this Resolution and thereafter the same shall belin full force and
effeot.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a
regular meeting held March 5th 19342 by the following vote of the
Council: -
