RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA AUTHORIZING THE LIGHT & POWER DEPARTMENT OF SAID CITY TO
WIRE FOR ELECTRICAL RANGES AND ALLOW CERTAIN AMOUNT CF CCB TS OF
SUCH WIRING AND CONNECTIONS IN ORDER TO INCREASE THE USE OF ELEC-
TRICAL ENERGY.
117HEREAS the City of Azusa is engaged in the
business of furnishing electrical energy and has constructed a
distributing system for that purpose; and
WHEREAS the per capita use of electrical
energy may be substantially increased without increasing the
overhead or calling for any substantial outlay in the distributing
system; and
WHEREAS said increase would mean an increase
in profit to the Light a Power Department of the City of Asusa,
which profit would be available to the City for other purposes;
and
WHEREAS the most practical means of increas-
ing the per capita oonsumptioa is in the more general use of
electrical ranges, which type of appliance use is a most desir-
able kinds in view of the fact that it creates an off-peak demand;
and
WHEREAS publicity as to the advantages of
electrical ranges is necessary in order to bring about the desired
results; and
WHEREAS electrical ranges in homes which are
owned by the ocoupant, are a profitable source of income to the
Light & Power Department and electrical ranges in such homes shou
be encouraged.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City
Council of the City of Azusa that the Light a Power Department of
said City is hereby authorized to conduct a publicity campaign
for the purpose of increasing the use of electrical energy through
the medium of electrical appliances sad more particularly by the
installation and use of electrical ranges and in order to induce
the said increased use of electrical energy through the medium
of electrical ranges, the Light'& Power Department is authorised
to expend sums when neoessary, not in excess of $126.00 for each
electrical range insta]._led in the home of any person who owns the
property in which such electrical range Is instilled. Said Light
& Power Department however shall not make any installation for
electrical connection with's S=W range except in homes owned by
the occupant thereof,and in which there is an electrical range,
nor in any place where the total cost of installation and conneo-
tion would exceed the sum of $126.00.

Of said cost of $128.00, an amount not in exoess
of $36.00 when neoessaiys may be used to defrays the expense of
wiring the property of the owner for electrical ranges. The equip
ment used in said wiring is to be and remain the property of the
City of Azusa at all times' and subject to removal and reclamation
when the Consumer no longer desires or discontinues the service.
Applications for wiring for electrical ranges
shall be made to the City Council of the City of Azusa and shall
be in writing and shall eat forth the location of the premises
which are desired to be.wired for such purpose and shall further
contain and embody an agreement on the part of .the applicant to
to a electrical energy for such electrical range for a period of
not less than_.". �-c months continuously following the installa-
tion of such wi=rn—g; said wiring to be done in the same manner and
under the same regulations as the wiring to the meter is done at
the present time.

the City Council of the City of Azusa, California, on the 25WG
