A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF .-ZUSA REQUESTING LOS ANGELES COUNTY,
A Ir111NICIP".L COP.PORATION IN ^1H: STATE OF CALIFCRIlIA,
TO SUPPLY FUNDS TO PAY FOR LABOR IN ilePOVII?G ITS
UUNICIPAL WATER SYSTEM.
'.711EREzS the County of Los Angeles, a Muni-
cipal Corporation of the State of California, has undertaken
to supply money to pay labor used on ralief projects in said
County and more particularly for relioving unemployment in
said Counter; and
r73EREAS the City Council of the City of
Azusa by Resolution has directed that pipe line be installed
along 12th Street from San Gabriel Avenue to the Northerly
prdongation of the ?'I s+erly line of Tract 7Jr8161 in said City
of Azusa, together with connections on intorsectir.g streets
as more particularly described in the Engineers Report here-
to attached marked Exhibit A; and
',11EREAS the City Council of the City of
Azusa dirocts and undertakes to furnish all tools, equipment,
naat3rie.1 and supervision necessary to do said work; and
.HEREAS the material necessary in the per-
formance of said rrork and improving said -.rater system as
indicated in Exhibit A ::as purchased by the City of .zusa
during the Month of gril, 1933, when the Stabilization
Bureau of said County was furnishing money for payment of
labor for such projects and had agreed to so furnish the nec-
essary :;Toney; and
'11EP.EAS THE improvement of the above men-
tioned water system as set forth in E;'hibit A is necessary
and urgent so that thatpart of said City of i.zi;se. rhero said

improvement is to be done, may have adequate water supply;

I'VHEREAS a duly licensed ongineer has
prepared a statenentry:of labor and. !.iaterial necessary to
accomplish said work which sts:temont is hereto attached
narked Exhibit A and made a part of this Application.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Coun-
oil of the City o£,Azusa that the ,Board of Supervisors of the
County of Los.Angeles,be and it is hereby requested for an
appropriation of County funds from the County Relief Project
in substantially the sum of $953.60 to pay for the labor to
complete the improvoment of said City Water System as set
forth'and outlined in Exhibit A hereto attachod.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of
Azusa will furnish'all tools, equipment, materials, and super-
vision for said project at its own expense'.

going Resolution was duly.adopted by the City Council of the
City of Azusa at .a regular meeting of said Council held on
Play 15,, 1933, at the regular Council Chambers of said City of
Azusa by the following vote of the Council: -

1. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT.
The installation of 1920 linoal feet of 8 -inch diameter steel
.electric welded water pipe along 12th Street from San Gabriel
Avenue to the northerly prolongation of the westerly line of
Tract No. 8161; thence southerly in and along that certain
easement, six foot in width lying westerly of and adjacent to
the aforesaid Tract No. 8161 to Eleventh Street; also the in-
stallation of 320 lineal feet of 22 inch diameter wrought iron
pipe in those portions of Angeline Avenue, Orange Avenue and
Sunset Avenue lying southerly of the aforesaid 12th Street to
connect the ,rater pipes now in place in said streets with the
water pipe.line proposed to be installed in 12th Street;,in-
eluding the installation of 3- 8 -inch gate valves, 4 - 22 inch
gate valves, 4 - 2 inch by 2 inch Jamos-Jones Fire hydrants,
together with all necessary fittings. The pipe to be laid
at an average depth below the existing ground surface of 5
feet 2 inches. The nature of ground to be excavated for the
installation of the pipes is composed of gravel, sand and
boulders.
