A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING AND
EMPOWERING THE CITY ENGINEER OF SAID CITY TO SUBMIT AN
APPLICATION TO THE FEDERAL CIVIL WORKS ADMINISTRATION FOR
LOS ANGELES COUNTY FOR FUNDS TO CONSTRUCT CERTAIN STREET
IMPROVEMENTS WITHIN SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, the Federal Government has made available
funds to be expanded on certain public works projects in
the State of California and its political subdivisions
through the Federal .Civil Works Administration for California;
and
WHEREAS, the project contemplated is not provided
for in any previous budget, and,could not be done without
the assistance of the Civil Works Administration;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City. of Azusa, as follows:
1. That the City Engineer of said City is hereby
authorized and empowered to prepare plans and estimates of
quantities and costs of the project hereinafter described
and to submit an application to the Federal Civil Works
Administration for California. for funds to construct said
project subject to the rules and regulations of said Federal
Civil Works Administration.
2. That the pnojeet shall include the grading of
the entire poNtion of the roadway,(except those portions
thereof where a macadam pavement is now constructed) and the
construction thereon of a disintegrated granite base four (4)
inches in thickness upon the following streets:
a. Fifth Street from Cerritos Avenue to San Gabriel Avenue;
b. Sixth Street from Qa=',r.`Itoz Avenue to San Gabriel Avenue;
c. Tenth Street from the easterly termination of said street
to Vernon Avenue;
d. Orange Avenue from Crescent Drive to Eleventh Street;
e. Sunset Avenue from Crescent Drive to Eleventh Street;
f. Angeleno Avenue from Crescent Drive to Eleventh Street;
g. Alameda Avenue from Ninth Street to Eleventh Street;
h. Dalton Avenue from Ninth Street to Eleventh Street;,
i. Soldano Avenue from Ninth Street to Eleventh Street;
J. Pasadena Avenue from Ninth Street to Eleventh Street;
k. Virginia Avenue from Fifth Street to the southerly
termination of said Street;
1. Barbara Avenue from Fifth Street to the southerly ter-
mination of said Street;
m. Angeleno Avenue from Sixth Street to Fourth Street;
n. Crescent Drive from Angeleno Avenue to Vernon Avenue.
That the entire width of the roadway of Angeleno
Avenue from the northerly line of the Santa Fe Railway
Company's right of way to Ninth Street be graded and a
disintegrated granite base four (4) inches in thickness
be constructed thereon.
That a width of thirty (30) feet of the roadway
of Paramount Avenue from Azusa Avenue to a line 1923
feet westerly of said Azusa Avenue,be graded and a dis-
integrated granite base four (4) inches in thickness
constructed thereon.
That cement concrete curb 6"x10"x18" and cement
concrete gutter two (2) feet wide and five (5) inches
in thickness, be constructed in the following locations:
a. Along the easterly and westerly sides of the
roadway of Azusa Avenue from the south line
of First Street to the north line of Broadway.
b. Along the easterly and westerly sides of the
roadway of Azusa Avenue from the north line
of Eleventh Street to the south line of
Sierra Madre Avenue.
That cement concrete curb 6"x9"x15" and cement
concrete gutter two (2) feet wide and five (5) inches
in thickness be constructed alongthe northerly and
southerly sides of the roadway of Foothill Boulevard
from a line 296.63 feet easterly of and parallel with
the westerly line of Virginia Avenue to thew esterly
boundary line of the City of Azusa.
3. That the total amount of man hours estimated to perform
the work is .3S 2 a 3 man-hours at 50 cents per hour for
unskilled labor; 2.sz man-hours at 80 cents per hour
for semi -skilled s or a Z, 2.5 man-hours at $1.10
per hour for skilled labor.
4o That the general supervision of the cork and
all foremen required in connection with the'constructiori
of the work will be paid by the City of Azusa.
5o That all materials proposed to be furnished
and paid by the City of Azusa will be produced under a
code of fair competition, as par Title No. I of the
National Industrial Recovery Act or under the Presidents
Reemployment agreemento
6. That no displacement of regularly employed
persons is contemplated in the application for.funds from
the Federal Civil Works Administration for the construc-
tion of the project herein desetibed.
7o That the project herein described is of general
public benefit, economically.sound and of permanent
value.

8, That the City of Ayusa has sufficient funds
to furnish the money, equipment, materials and services
of value set forth under Item III of the application and
upon approval of the project will furnish all of the.items
listed.
9. The City Clerk of said City of Azusa shall
certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and
forward three certified copies thereof to the Federal
Civil Works Administration for Los Angeles County,
California.

of Azusa do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
No. 1369 was regularly passed by the City Council of
the City of Azusa, signed by the Mayor of said City and
attested by the City Clerk of said City, all at a
special meeting of said City Council held on the 28th
day of November, 1933 and that the same was adopted by
the following vote, to wit: '
AYES: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, Morden, Meier.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilman: Calvert.
