HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 1368I RESOLUTION NO. &,4 . A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA APPROVING THE ROUTING OF CERTAIN STATE HIGHWAYS. The City Council of the City of Azusa do resolve as follows: WHEREAS, under and by virtue of Chapter 767 of the Statutes of 19339 the Department of Public Works of the State of California is authorized to expend annually from the State Highway Fund an amount equal to one quarter of one cent per gallon tax on motor vehicle fuel, after the proportionate payments therefrom into the "Fuel tax enforcement fund" and after the proportionate refunds shall have been made, within the incorporated cities and free- holder charter cities, and any city and county in the State of California, for the purposes specified in said chapter, and in the manner provided by law, and WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of said Chapter 767, and in accordance with the pro- visions of Sections 363r and 363y of the Political Code (Chapter 326 of the Statutes of 1933), the Department of Public Works, acting by and through the California Hi.g1way Commission, has designated as State highways the following described streets in the CITY OF AZUSA. Los Angeles County Route 9, Through Azusa. 1.8 miles Beginning at the west city limits of Azusa on Center Street (Foothill Boulevard), thence easterly over Center Street to the east City limits, a dis- tance of 1.8 miles, more or less, within the corporate limits of Azusa; Route 62. Through Azusa. 2.2 miles Beginning at the south city limits of Azusa on Azusa Avenue at Broadway, thence northerly over Azusa Avenue to the North city limits at Sierra Madre Avenue, a distance of 2.2 miles, more or less, within the corporate limits of Azusa; % which said streets are existing travelable.streets in the City of Azusa, and approximately on the route. of the authorized State highways, and . WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and the California Highway Commission have requested the City of -Azusa to approve the routing hereinbefore described and to agree to resume jurisdiction over said city streets, or portions thereof, as may not be
