A RESOLUTICN OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA REQUESTING LOS ANGELES COUNTY, a Municipal Corporation
in the State of California, TO SUPPLY FUNDS TO PAY FOR THE
LABOR OF IMPROVING�PARTS OF CERTAhN STREETS IN THE CITY OF
AZUSA, a Municipal Corporation in Los Angeles County.
WHEREAS the County of Los Angeles, a Municipal
Corporation of the State of California, has undertaken to
supply money for labor for relief projects in said County
and more particularly for the purpose of relieving unem-
ployment in said County and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Azusa
by Resolution has directed that San Gabriel Avenue between
Second and Fifth Streets, and Alameda Avenue from�Foothill
Boulevard South tb Fifth Street, and Dalton Avenue between
Ninth Street to Fifth,and Soldano Avenue between Tlinth-Street
and Fifth Street, and Angelino Avenue between Foothill Boule-
vard and Sixth Street, and Sunset Avenue between Foothill
Boulevard and Sixth Street, and Orange Avenue between Foothill
Boulevard'and Fifth Street, and Lemon Avenue between Foothill
Boulevard and Fifth Street, shall' all be.improved by placing
disintegrated granite and crushed mock and oil surfacing the
shoulders on each side of the existing pavement on each of the
said mentioned Avenues as herein set forth; and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Azusa
in said Resolution.directs and undertakes to furnish all
machinery and paraphrenalia necessary to do said work and
also a foreman on said work; and
WHEREAS the improvement of the above mentioned
Avenues is necessary because of the amount of traffic on the
same and because said Streets are in poor condition; and
WHEREAS it will require about 720 man days of
labor for the improvement of San Gabriel Avenue between Second
and Fifth Streets at an approximate cost of $2,3uO.00; and
will require about 480 man days of labor for improvement of
Alameda Avenue from Foothill Boulevard to Fifth Street at
the approximate cost of $1,536.00; and will require about
540 man days of labor for the improvement of Dalton Avenue
between Ninth and Fifth Streets at an approximate cost of
$1,730.00; and will require about 540 man days of labor
for the improvement of Soldano Avenue between Ninth Street
and Fifth Street at an approximate cost of $1,730.00; and
will require about 160 man days of labor for the improvement
of Angelino Avenue between Foothill Boulevard and Sixth
Street at an approximate cost of $512.00; and will require
about 160 man days of labor for the'improvement of Sunset
Avenue bet:;een Foothill Boulevard and Sixth Street an at ap-
proximate cost of $612.00; and will require about 320 man

days of labor for the improvement of Orange Averiue between
Foothill Boulevard and Fifth Street at an approximate cost of
$1,024.00; and will require about 320 man days of labor for
the improvement of Lemon Avenue between Foothill Boulevard
and Fifth Street at an approximate cost of about $"1,024.00,
all of the above approximated costs being based on an eight
hour day at 40/ per hour.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Azusa that the Board of Supervisors of said
County of Los Angeles be and the said Board of Supervisors
is -hereby requested for an appropriation of County Funds from
the County Relief Project in the sum of substantially
$10,368.00 to pay for the labor to complete the shoulders .
on each side of the pavement on that part of San Gabriel
Avenue, Alameda Avenue, Dalton Avenue, Soldano Avenue,
Angelino Avenue, Sunset Avenue, Orange Avenue and Lemon
Avenue as hereinbefore set forth.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of
Azusa will furnish all material, machinery and equipment
necessary to do said work and also a foreman without expense
to the County of Los Angeles.

Resolution was duly adopted b;; the City Council of the City
of Azusa at a regular meeting of said Council hold on December
19, 1932, in the regular Council Chambers in said City of
Azusa, by the following vote of the Council:-
Ayes:- Councilmen Mace, Johnson, Meier.
Noes:- None
Absent:.- Councilmen Morden and Williams.
