HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 1314RESOLUTION ss a A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCII: OF THE CITY OF AZUSA REQUESTING LOS ANGELES COUNTY, A MUNICIPAL CORPORA- TION IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, TO SUPPLY FUNDS TO PAY THE LABOR FOR IMPROVING THIRD STREET IN THE CITY OF AZUSA, BETWEEN BARBARA AVENUE and ANGELINO AVENUE.% WHEREAS the County of Los Angeles, a Municipal corporation of the State of California, has undertaken to supply money for labor for relief projects in said County and for the purpose of relieving unemployment in said County, and WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Azusa by Resolution has directed that Third Street between Barbara Avenue and Angelino Avenue shall be improved by grading the same and paving it with decomposed granite, and WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Azusa in said Resolution directs and undertakes to furnish all machinery and paraphrenalia necessary to do the work,and also a foreman on said work, and WHEREAS the improvement on that part of Third Street is necessary because of the amount of traffic on the same and because the said Street is now in bad condition, and WHEREAS it will require the sum of approximately $2,000.00 to pay for the labor for the improvement of Third Street between Barbara Avenue and Angelino Avenue or in other words will require about 630 man days of 8 hours per day at 40� per hour to complete the work on said Third Street. - 1 - I THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Azusa that the Board of Super- visors of said Los Angeles County be,and said Board of Supervisors is,hereby requested for an appropriation of Cour* Funds from the Los Angeles County Relief Project in the sum of substantially 02.,000.00 to pay for the labor to complete the grading and improvement of Third Street between Barbara Avenue and Angelino Avenue; said work is estimated to require 630 man days of 8 hours each at W per hour. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Azusa will furnish all material., machinery and equipment __ , k. necessa ry to do said work and will furnish a foreman without expense to the County of Los Angeles. I hereby certify that the foregoing xesolu- tion was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting of said Council held on September 19thp 1932., in the regular Council Chamber by the following vote of the Council: - Ayes: Councilmen Mace$'Johnsong Morden$ Williams and Meier.
