HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 1307RESOLUTION NO. 130 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI'T'Y OF AZUSA REQUESTING LOS ANGELES COUNTY, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO SUPPLY FUNDS TO PAY THE LABOR FOR IMPROVING PARTS OF SAN GABRIEL AVENUE AND THIRD AND FOURTH STREETS IN SAID C1ITY. WHEREAS the County of Los Angeles, a Municipal Corporation of the State of California has undertaken to supply money for labor for relief projects in the said County and for the purpose of relieving unemployment in said County, and WHEREAS the City Council of the City -of --,Azusa by Resolution No. ,3has directed that San Gabriel Avenue between Foothill Boulevard and Fifth Street shall•be im- proved by placing disintegrated granite and crushed rock and oil surfacing the shoulders on each side of the ex- isting pavement on said San Gabriel Avenue from Foothill Boulevard to Fifth Street in said City, and WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Azusa in said Resolution No. has -further directed that Fourth Street between Virginia Avenue'and Barbara Avenue and also Third Street between Virginia Avenue and Barbara Avenue in said City be improved and surfaced by the use of dis- integrated gfanite, crushed rock and oil surfacing, and WHEREAS the City. Council of the City of Azusa in said Resolution directs and undertakes to furnish all machinery and paraphernalia necessary to do said work and also a foreman on said work, and WHEREAS the improvement on that part of San Gabriel Avenue and those said parts of Third and Fourth Streets are necessary because of the amount of traffic on same and be- cause said streets are in poor condition, and WHEREAS it will require the sum of approximately ,$"1,280.00 to pay for the labor for the improvement of San Gabriel Avenue between Foothill Boulevard and Fifth Street, and will require approximately the sum of -1.64040:0 to gay for the labor on said Third and Fourth Streets between Virginia Avenue and Barbara Avenue, or in other words will require about 400 man days of eight hours per day at ..40¢ per hour to complete.the work on said parts of San Gabfiel Avenueand will require'=�0D man days of eight hours per day at .40f per hour to complete the work on said Third and Fourth Streets between.Virginia Avenue and Barbara Avenue. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Azusa that the Board of Supervisors of said County of Los Angeles be"1an'd;s,aid Board of Supervisors is hereby requested for an appropriation of County funds from -1- the County Relief Project in the sum of substantially ;1,280.00 to pay for the labor to complete the shoulders on each side of the pavement on said San Gabriel Avenue between Foothill Boulevard and Fifth Avenue. Said labor estimated to require 400 man days or eight hours each at . W per hour, and BE IT FURTHER. RESOLVED that the Board of Super- visors of said County of Los Angeles be and said Board of Supervisors is hereby requested for an appropriation of County funds from the County Relief Project in the sum of substantially '$640Y00 to pay for the labor necessary to pave Third and Fourth Streets between Virginia Avenue and Barbara Avenue in said City. Said labor estimated to re- quire :20p man days of eight hours each at .40� per hour, and BE IT FUR'T'HER RESOLVED that the City of Azusa will furnish all material, machinery and equipment necessary to do said work and also a foreman, without expense to the County of Los Angeles. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting of said Council held on August 1, 1932 in the regular Council Chambers in said City of Azusa, by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, Morden, Williams, Pdeier.
