A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CONSTRUCTION OF DININTEGRATED
GRANITE SHOULDERS ON PARTS OF SAN GABRIEL AVENUE AND DIRECT
ING THE PAVING WITH DISINTEGRATED GRANITE AND OIL OF THIRD
AND FOURTH STREETS BETWEEN VIRGINIA AVENUE AND BARBARA AVE=
NUE.
WHEREAS there are no shoulders along either side
of the existing pavement on San Gabriel Avenue in the City
Of Azusa from Foothill Boulevard to Twelfth Street, and
WHEREAS it is the opinion of the City Council of
the City of Azusa that disintegrated granite shoulders be
placed along the sides of said pavement, and
WHEREAS Third and Fourth Streets in the City of
Azusa between Barbara Avenue and Virginia Avenue are in
poor condition and are in urgent need of improvement, and
WHEREAS it is the opinion of the City Council of
the City of Azusa that said parts of Third and Fourth Streets
should be improved by paving with disintegrated granite,
crushed rock and oil, and
WHEREAS the County of Los Angeles, a Municipal
Corporation in the State of California has undertaken to
supply funds for work on County Relief Projects for the
purpose of relieving the unemployment in the said County,
on the conditions that municipalities in which said work
is to be done shall furnish all material and paraphernalia
necessary in the construction of said work and also a fore-
man on the job.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Azusa that shoulders of disintegrated granite
with crushed rock and resurfacing 24 feet wide at an average
thickness of 5 inches be constructed along each side of
said pavement of San Gabriel Avenue in said City between
Foothill Boulevard on the north and Fifth Street on the
south, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Azusa that Third and Fourth Streets between Virginia
Avenue,and,Barbara Avenue in the City of Azusa be improved
by surfacing the same with disintegrated granite, crushed
rock and oil at an average thickness of � inches from
curb to curb on said streets.
BE IT FUR'T'HER RESOLVED that the City of Azusa
furnish all material, machinery, implements and utensils
necessary to be used in the construction of said work and
also a foreman without any charge therefore to or remuner-
ation from said Los Angeles County for said material, machinery
and etc., or foreman, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said City of
Azusa request of said County of Los Angeles, a Municipal
Corporation in the State of California, to furnish the
money necessary to pay for labor in said improvements.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa
at a regular meeting of said Council held on August 1,
1932 in the regular Council Chambers in said City of Azusa,
by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, Morden, Williams,
Meier.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.
