HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 1294RESOLUTION NO. 1294 A RESOi,UTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA REQUESTING LOS ANGELES COUIiTY, A MUNICIPAL CORPORA- TION IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, TO SUPPLY FUNDS TO PAY THE LABOR FOR II,IPROVL'P,IEPiTS ON PARTS OF SAN GABRIEL AVENUE. WHEREAS the County of Los Angeles, a Municipal Corporation of the State of California, has undertaken to supply mon-y for labor for relief projects of the said County and for the purpose of relieving unemployment in said County, and ,','HE the said City Council of the City of Azusa by Resolution Ido. 1293 has directed that disintegrated granite with crushed rock and oil surfacing shoulders be constructed on each side of existing pavement on San Gabriel Avenue from Foothill Boulevard to Twelfth Street in said City, and WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Azusa in said Resolution directs and undertakes to furnish all material, machinery and paraphernalia necessary to do said work and foreman, and '^lHEREAS The improvement of that part of San Gabriel Avenue is necessary because of the immense amount of traffic over said San Gnbriel Avenue because of its being a connecting link to the San Gabriel Canyon, and WHEREAS it will require the sum of approximately $2,880.00 to pay for said Labor or in other rrords will require 1200 man days of 8 hours per day at 30a per hour; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Azusa that the Board of Supervisors of said County of Los Angeles be and said Board of Supervisors is hereby requested for an appropriation of County Hinds from the County Relief Project in the sum of substantially ;2,880.00 to pay for the labor necessary to complete the shoulders on each side of the pavement of said San Gabriel Avenue between Foothill Boulevard and Twelfth Street, said labor estimated"to require 1200 man days of 8 hours each at 301W per hour, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Azusa will furnish all material, machinery and equipment necessary to do said work and foreman without expense to the County of Los Angeles.
