FOOTHILL BOULEVARD TO T'aET:FTH STREET. 71HEREAS thore are no shoulders along either side of existing pavement on San Gabriel Avenue in the City of Azusa from Foothill Boulevard to Twelfth Street, and ":'HEREAS said Dart of San Gabriel Avenue is extensively used and traveled by trucks and vehicles as an entrance into the San Gabriel Canyon, and ','!HEREAS the roadway on each side of said pave- ment on said part of San Gabriel Avenue is in poor con- dition and is in urgent need of improvement and surfac- ing, and PlHERE_>S it is the opinion of the City Council of the City of Azusa that disintegrated granite shoulders along each side of said n_avement should be constructed at once, and WHEREAS the County of Los Angeles, a Municipal Corporation in the State of California, has undertaken to supply funds for work on County Relief projects for the purpose of relieving unemployment in said County, on condition that the Municipalities in which said work is to be done shall furnish all material and paraphernalia necessary in the construction of such relief work; THF'RE.FORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE City Council of the City of Azusa that shoulders of disintegrated granite with crushed rock and resurfacing 24 feet wide and an average thickness of five inches, be constructed along each side of the e-xisting pavement on Ssn Gabriel Avenue in said City between Foothill Boulevard on the South and T;velfth Street on the North, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Azusa furnish all material, machinery, implements, utensils and paraphernalia necessary to be used in the construction of said work, and foreman, without any charge therefor to, or remuneration from, said Los Angeles County for said material, machinery or paraphernalia. -1- R I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolu- tion was duly and regularly donted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a Special Meeting duly and legal- ly held on June 8th, 1932 at the regular Council Chambers in said City of Azusa by the following_ vote of the Council: AYES: Councilmen: Mace, Johnson, Morden, '9'ill.iams, Meier.
