HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 1282Y RESOLUTION NO.1282 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, CALLING A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON THE 11th DAY OF APRIL, 1932, GIVING A GENERAL Dc:SCRIPTION OF THE VOTING PRECINCT AND LOCATION OF THE POLLING DLACE, APPOINTING THE ELECTION OFFICERS THEREFORE AND DIRECTING NOTICE TO BE GIVEN OF SUCH ELECTION AS RFQUIRED BY LA"'. The City Council of the City of Azusa do resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That there shall be held in the City of Azusa on Monday, the 11th day of April, 1932, a general municipal election by the qualified electors of the said City of Azusa, for the purpose of electing the following city officers, to -wit: Two members of the City Council for four (4) year term. One City Treasurer for four (4) ,year term. One City Clerk for four, (4) year term. SECTION 2: That the number of voting precincts for the purpose of holding said election shall be one (1), to be known as Consolidated Election Precinct "A", and said Consolidated Election Precinct "A" shall consist of the entire City of Azusa, being Azusa City Precincts numbers 19 29 3, 4 and 5 of the regular State and County election, and the polling place for said Consolidated Election Precinct "A", is hereby located in the "uditorium of the New City Hall on Block 30, in said City of Azusa, California between Alameda Avenue and Dalton Avenue. That the Board of Election for such Consolidated Election Precinct "A", is hereby appointed as follows: Inspector: William 0. Streshly Judges: Virginia Hertpnstein Tilbur C. Braley Clerks: T:iarie Psttv.Jo$n Jack I. McGachan SECTION 3: That the polls of said el-ection must be opened at six o'clock A. M. of the same day of the election and must be kept open until seven o'clock P. M. of the same day when the polls shall be closed; except and provided, however, that if, at the hour of closing there are any other voters in the polling place or in line at the door who are qualified to vote and have not been able to do so since their appearing, the polls shall be kept open a sufficient time to enable them to vote. That the above named persons on said Board of Election are hereby appointed to such offices respectively and their compensation shall be Ten (810.00) Dollars, each, for all services. SECTION 4. That notice of said election and list of nominees shall be published by the City Clerk as required by law. SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting held February 17, 1932, by the follow- ing vote of the Council: AYES: Councilmen: Mace, Williams, Muehe, Meier. Mayor of the City of Azusa. r RESOLUTION 170. 1.78 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DECLARING A PART OF AZUSA AVENUE IN SAID CITY, AND INTERSECTING STREET CROSSINGS; TO BE A PART OF THE COUNTY SYSTEM OF HIGHWAYS IN THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles, State of California, on or about February 1st, 1932, duly adopted and approved a Resflution making that part of Azusa Avenue in the City of Azusa between Sierra Madre Avenue and the Foothill Boulevard, together with intersect- ing portions ofpablic streets, a part of the system of County Highways of said Los Angeles County, and WHEREAS by reason of its location and travel thereon, said part of azusa Avenue and portions of intersecting public streets, should be a part of the System of County Highways in said County, and should be improved by said County. THEREFORE, BE IT R -&SOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Azusa, that it approved the action of the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County, California, in declar- ing that part of Azusa Avenue hereinabove described and portions of intersecting streets, to be a part pf the County System of Highways in the County of Los Angeles, California, as provided in that certain Statute of the State of California, entitled "AN ACT AUTHORIZING COUNTIES TO IMPROVE OR ASSIST IN THE I11PROVEMENT OF STREETS, LYING IN MUNICIPALITIES", approved April 30, 1923, Statutes of 1923, Page 123, as amended by the -1- Act approved April 30, 1925, Page 236, and the City Council consents to the establishment of that portion of Azusa Avenue as s part of the County System of Highways. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a special meeting duly and legally held on February 8, 19329 at the regular Council Chambers in said City of Azusa by the following vote >of the Council: - AYES: HAYES: /1 v ABSENT: Qrzwu✓ jnQ o?y CITY CLERK ;OF THE CITYF A� ZUSA Approved this 8th day of February, 1932.
