RESOLUTION NO. 3479
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA,
DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED BY
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA TO ANNEX TO SAID
CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN
AND DESIGNATED AS "NORTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO.
15" AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the provisions of the
Annexation of the Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 proceedings have
been initiated by the City Council of the City of Azusa on its own
motion to annex to the. City of Azusa all of that uninhabited terri-
tory situated in the County of Los Angeles, State of California,
hereby designated as "Northerly Annexation District No. 15" and
described as follows:
All that real property situated in the County of Los
Angeles, State of California, described as follows:
" Beginning at the southeast corner of Lot 63 of Subdivision
No. 2 of the Azusa Land and Water Company as shown on ma re- efll
corded in Book 43 page Q4 of Miscellaneous Records in the office
of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles which point is in
the boundary of the City of Azusa as same existed on May 21st,
1956' thence northerly along the easterly lines of Lots 63, 62 and
61 o said subdivision to the most northerly corner of said last
mentioned lot; thence southwester)y along the northwesterly bound-
ary of said Subdivision -No. 2 to the intersection with the southerly
line of the northeast quarter of Fractional Section 22, Township 1
North, Range 10 West, S.B.B. k M. according to Plat of said Town-
ship filed in the U. S. Land Office, Los Angeles, California, April
6 1876 and the Resurvey Plat filed in said U. S. Land Office April
260 1936; thence westerly along said southerly line of said north-
east quarter of Section 22 to the center of said Section 22; thence
westerly along the southerly line of the northwest quarter of said
Section 22 to the easterly line of the west half of the southwest
quarter of the northwest quarter of said Section 22; thence northerly
along said easterly line to the southerly line of the north half of
the northwest quarter of said Section 22; thence easterly along
said southerly line to the southeast corner of the northeast quarter
of the northwest quarter of said Section 22; thence northerly along
the easterly line and westerly along the northerly line of said north-
west quarter to the northwest corner of said Section 22; thence west-
erly along the northerly line of Section 21 of said Township to the
northwest corner of said Section 21; thence southerly along the
westerly line of said Section 21 to the northwest corner of Lot 1 of
said Section 21; thence easterly on the northerly line and southerly
on the easterly line of said Lot 1 to the northwesterly boundary of
Parcel 2 as described in deed to Los Angeles Development Company
recorded in Book 51375, page 92 of Official Records, in the office of
said County Recorder; thence along the boundary of said Parcel 2,
North 65°12130• East, North 2.12115" East and South 44°34'30" East
to the northerly line of Rancho Azusa de 6uarte as shows on County
Surveyors Map No. B-481, sheet 2, on file in the office of the County
Engineer of said county; thence westerly along said northerly line of
Rancho Azusa de Duarte to the northeast corner of Lot 2, portions of
Sections 21 and 28, of the Subdivision of the Rancho Azusa de Duarte,

63.65 feet more or less to the boundary of said Tract 18; thence
along the boundary of said Tract 18, South 88°37`02" West 239.58 feet,
South 0°13145" East 419.76 feet, South 88°37102" West 419.76 feet to
the easterly line of Lot 4 in Section 28 of said Subdivision of the
Rancho Azusa de Duarte, southerly in a direct line to the southeast
corner of said Lot 4, westerly alonj the .southerly line of said Lot 4
a distance of 250
South 34008'48" West to the southerly line of the Pacific Electric
Railway Right -of -Way, 300 feet wide in this vicinity as shown on map
recorded in book 2651, page 215 of Deeds in said County Recorder's
office, said map showing the present Pacific Electric Railway Right -
of -play as the Los Angeles Inter -Urban Railway Company Right -of -Way;
thence westerly along the southerly line of said Pacific Electric
Railway Right -of -Way, of variable width, following the same in all
its courses and directions to a point 533.17 feet, more or less,
easterly, measured along said southerly line, from the easterly line
of Fish Canyon Road (formerly Las Lomas Avenue) 40 feet wide as
granted to the County of Los Angeles by deed recorded in Book 1333,
page 91, of said Deeds, which point is the northeast corner of that
parcel of land described in that certain grant deed recorded in Book
14312, page 222 of Official Records, in the office of said County
Recorder; thence southerly on the easterly line and westerly on the
southerly line of said last mentioned parcel of land to the easterly
line of said Fish Canyon Road (formerly Las Lomas Avenue) 40 feet
wide;.thence southerly along the easterly line of said Fish Canyon
Road and its extension southerly as shown on County Surveyor's Map
No. B-1644, on file in said office of the County Engineer, to the
northeasterly line of the State Highway, 100 feet wide, shown on said
last mentioned map as Foothill Boulevard and also known as Huntington
Drive, said 100 foot wide State Highway being as shown on State
Division of Highways Map No. VII-L.A.-9-G, sheet 13, which ma is on
file in said office of the County Engineer as Filed Map No. 10205;
thence southeasterly along the northeasterly line of the 100 foot wide
right of •way as described in deed recorded in Book 2278, page 187 of
Official Re�ards in said County Recorder's office to a point in said
northeasterly line opposite centerline Station 149+98.56 as shown
on Sheet 14 of said State Division of Highways map; thence continuinngg
southeasterly on the northeasterly line of the State Highway Fight -of -
Way, 100 feet wide as described in deed recorded in Book 7848, page
48 of Official Records in said County Recorder's office, as shown on
Sheets 14, 15, and 16 of said State Division of Highways map, to the
northwesterly boundary line of said Subdivision No. 2 of the Azusa
Land and Water Company; thence northeasterly along said northwesterly
boundary line to the southwesterly line of the Pacific Electric Rail-
way spur track Right -of -Way, 50 feet wide, as described in grant of
easement recorded in Book 32974, page 275 of said Official Records;
thence northwesterly, northerly and northeasterly along the south-
westerly, westerly and northwesterly line of said spur track Right -
of -Way, 50 feet wide, to the intersection with the southerly line of
the Pacific Electric Railway Right -of -Way 100 feet wide, as shown
on said map recorded in Book 2651, page E5 of Deeds; thence easterly
along said southerly line of said Right -of -Way a distance of 95.76
feet, more or less, to the northwesterly boundary line of said Sub-
division No. 2; thence northeasterly along said last mentioned line
to the northerly line of said Pacific Electric Right -of -Way, 100 feet
wide, which is also apoint in said boundary of the City of Azusa;
thence northwesterly along said City boundary and following the same
in all its courses and directions to the point of beginning.

SECTION 2. That the City Council of the City of Azusa
desires to annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Azusa for
the following reason: The territory is contiguous to the City of
Azusa and its proposed annexation will contribute to and facilitate
the orderly growth and development of both the city and the territory
proposed to be annexed.
SECTION 3. That the County Boundary Commission of Los
Angeles County, California, did in session duly assembled, approve the
proposed annexation boundaries of said "Northerly Annexation District
No. 15" as above described and as submitted to said commission by the
City Council of said City.
SECTION 4. September 17, 1956, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock
P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, City of Azusa, County
of Los Angeles, State of California, hereby is fixed as the time and
place when and where any persons owning real property within the
uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the
City of Azusa and having any objections or protests to the proposed
annexation may appear before the City Council of the City of Azusa and
show cause why such uninhabited territory should not be so annexed to
the City of Azusa. Such protests must be in writing, may be filed
at any time before the hour set for hearing objections or protests to
the proposed annexation, and shall state the name of the owner of
the property affected and the description and area of such property in
general terms.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk of the City of Azusa hereby is
authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be
published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week in the
Azusa Herald and Pomotropic, a newspaper of general circulation
published in the City of Azusa, the City to which it is proposed to
annex the aforesaid territory, and also in The Los Angeles Daily
Journal, a newspaper of general circulation published outside the
City of Azusa but in the County of Los Angeles, State of California,
the county in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed
to the City of Azusa, said publication to be completed at least twenty
days prior to the date set for hearing.
SECTION 6. The said City Clerk is further authorized and
directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be
mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to
be annexed was assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll
available on the date the above said proceedings were initiated, at the
addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to said Clerk, and to
any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of
the lands in which he has an interest, either legal or equitable, with
said Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days
before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk is directed to cause written
notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Super-
visors of the County of Los Angeles, such notice to be given not less
than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed
annexation.
SECTION 8. In the event there is, upon the land proposed
to be annexed to said City, a structural improvement owned, being
acquired or leased by a County fire protection district, the City Clerk
is directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be
mailed to the governing body of such district, such notice to be sent
not less than ten (10) days before the first public hearing upon such
proposed annexation.

SECTION 9. The City Clerk is directed to cause written
notice to be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled
thereto, in the manner required by law.
SECTION 10. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
and passage of this resolution and the same shall thereupon take effect
and be in force.
Approved and passed this 30th day of July , 1956.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly
adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a special meeting
thereof held on the 30th day of July 1956, by the following vote
of the Council:
