A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
CONSENTING TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE PROCEEDINGS
FOR THE ANNEXATION OF SAID INHABITED TERRITORY
DESIGNATED AS "EASTERLY ANNEXATION NO. 13."
WHEREAS, there is in the files of the City Clerk of the City
of Azusa a petition which was presented to the City Council of the City
of Azusa requesting the Council to give its consent to the commencement
of annexation proceedings in connection with that certain inhabited
territory therein referred to and generally described, and which terri-
tory is contiguous to the City of Azusa; and
WHEREAS said petition was referred to the Planning Commission
of said city for investigation, report and recommendation; and
WHEREAS the Planning Commission rendered its report and
recommendation to the said City.Council on the 16th day of April, 1956,
favoring the commencement of annexation proceedings; and
WHEREAS this City Council has determined and found that it
would be in the best interests of the owners and residents of both the
City of Azusa and the territory proposed to be so annexed that proceed-
ings for such annexation be instituted without delay.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the said City Council hereby does acknowledge
receipt of the written proposal to annex to the City of Azusa that cer-
tain territory within the County of Los Angeles, State of California,
contiguous to the City of Azusa and described as follows:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of Lot 396 of Tract No.
20494 as shown on map of said Tract recorded in Book 541, pages 37
through 43, of Maps Records in the office of the County Recorder of Los
Angeles County, which point is also a point in the boundary of the City
of Azusa as same existed on May 1, 1956; thence easterly on the southerly
line of said Tract 20494 to the point of intersection with the centerline
of Glenfinnan Avenue, sixty feet wide, as shown on said Tract map;
thence southerly on the centerline of said Glenfinnan Avenue as shown on
map of Tract No. 19809, recorded at Book 520, pages 34 through 40 of Maps
Records in said County Recorder's office to the point of intersection
with the centerline of Fondale Street, sixty feet wide, as shown on said
map of Tract 19809; thence easterly on the centerline of said Fondale
Street to the point of intersection with the centerline of Rockvale
Avenue, sixty feet wide, as shown on said map of Tract No. 19809; thence
southerly on the centerline of said Rockvale Avenue to the point of inter-
section with the centerline of Bellefont Drive, sixty feet wide, as
shown on said map of Tract No. 19809; thence easterly on the centerline
of said Bellefont Drive to the point of intersection with the centerline
of Orangecrest Avenue, fifty-four feet wide, as shown on said map of
Tract No. 19809; thence northerly on the centerline of said Orangecrest
Avenue to the point of intersection with the northerly boundary of said
Tract No. 19809; thence easterly on said northerly boundary of Tract
19809• to the Northeast corner of Lot 246; thence easterly on the easterly
prolongation of the northerly line of said Lot 246 to the point of inter-
section with the centerline of Bellefont Drive, fifty-four feet wide, as
shown on said map of Tract 19809; thence northerly on the centerline of
said Bellefont Drive to the point of intersection with the centerline
of Fondale Street, fifty-four feet wide, as shown on said map of Tract
No. 19809; thence easterly on the centerline of said Fondale Street to
the point of intersection with the centerline of Viceroy Avenue, sixty
feet wide, as shown on said map of Tract No. 19809; thence continuing
easterly on the easterly prolongation of the centerline of said Fondale
Street to the point of intersection with the westerly line of Lot 75 of
said Tract No. 19809; thence northerly on the westerly line and easterly
on the northerly line of said Lot 75 to the northeast corner of said Lot;
thence continuing easterly on the easterly prolongation of said northerly
line of Lot 75,a distance of eighty feet, more or less, to the point of
intersection with the easterly line of Citrus Avenue, eighty feet wide,
as shown on map of Tract No. 17939 as recorded in Book 551, pages 14
through 16 of Maps Records in the office of said County Recorder, said
point being also a point in the boundary of the City of Azusa as same
existed on May 1, 1956; thence following said City boundary in all its
various courses and directions to the point of.beginning.
SECTION 2. That pursuant to the requirements of the Annexation
Act of 1913 said City Council hereby consents to the institution and
commencement of annexation proceedings in connection with said described
inhabited territory, said proceedings to be pursuant to the provisions
of the Annexation Act of 1913.
SECTION 3. That said unincorporated territory be and the same
hereby is.designated as "Easterly Annexation No. 13."
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
the passage of this resolution and the same shall thereupon take effect
and be in force.
