Present at roll call: Trustees: Peirce, Moon, Meier, Case, City Attorney, City Clerk. Absent: Trustees: Bierbower. The minutes of.the last regular meeting held April, 3, 1922 were read and approved as read. The City Clerk reported that the returns of the General Municipal Election held on Monday, the 10th day of April, 1922, in the City of Azusa, California,' were then and had been in his possession in the envel- opes containing them, in the same condition as when received, and the said Clerk presented said returns to the Board of Trustees at thismeeting. It was thereupon moved by Trustees Ira D. Moon seconded by Trustee August L. Meier, that the Board of Trustees proceed fort with to canvass said returns. .The said motion was adopted by the following vote: AYES: Trustees: Morgan J. Peirce, Ira D. Moon, August L. Meier and L. Case, NOES: None, ABSENT: Trustees: H. R. Bierbower. Said motion being carried, 'the Board'.of Trustees then proceeded forthwith to publicly examine and can-' vass said returns, and upon the completion 'of said can- vass by said Board it appeared that the whole number of votes cast in said City of Azusa at said election was 560. Moon, that the following Resolution be adopted: A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY P.cO (j % OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA,- DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE OFF- ICIAL COUNT AND CANVASS OF THE VOTE OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE SAID CITY ON APRIL 109 1922. T -he City Clerk then reported that he had caused to be entered in the Minute Book a statement of the result of said election, showing all matters required by law to be shown therein, and that he had done so by copy- ing in the Resolution last hereinabove set forth in full. The City Clerk then read' -the minutes of this meeting up .to this point, whereupon ifl as moved by Trustee Au u Meier.seconded by Trustee Morgan JToPeirce, that the sa menu ea stand approved as read. The said motion was carried by the following vote: AYES: Trustees: Morgan J. Peirce, Ira,D. Moon, August L. Meier and L. Case. NOES: None. ABSENT: Trustees: H. R. Bierbower. Mr. H. R. Bierbower then retired from the Board as a Member thereof, and the Trustees elect, Messrs." Ira D. Moon, Morgan J. Peirce, August T,. Meier and Howard C. Chenoweth, who were presentrat the meeting, at this point immediately took, subscribed and filed the constitutional oath of office as required by law, and took their seats at once with Trustee Luther Case, and the Board as thus constituted proceeded forthwith to organize by the election of a president thereof. Mr. L. Case leas nominated by August L. Meier. No furth- er nominations being made it was moved by August L. keier and seconded by Ira D. Moon that the nomination be closed and Mr. L. Case be declared elected. The motion was put by the City Attorney H. P. Goodwin and was carried by the following vote: AYES: Trustees: Peirce, Moon, Meier, Chenoweth. NOES: None. Not voting L. C as;. The request of Mrs. Frank Morris for permission to con- struct a driveway into her premises on east Centre MRS. F. A request for an increase in salary was read from Mr. William J. Holden and upon motion duly carried the same was referred to the Auditing and Finance Committee. Upon motion duly carried the appointment by W. I. Ham- blin, Health Officer of Miss Lillie Taylor as Deputy Health Okficer was approved. It was regularly moved and carried that the position held by H. H. Morgan as Special Police Officer be dis- continued on the 4th day of May, 1922. Ob motion duly carried the matter of clogged cess pool was referred to the Public Works Committee with power to act. Mr. W. N. Barnard was before the Board with a complaint against the Motor Officer and on motion duly carried the matter was referred to the Sanitary and Police Com- mittee with power to act. MR. W. J. It was,regularly moved and carried that the Ordinance entitled: !AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING SECTIONS 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 22, 24, 25, 26, and 28 OF ORDINANCE NO. 191 OF THE SAID CITY ENTITLED: "AN ORD=-- INANCE.OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA LICENSING AND REGULATING CERTAIN KINDS OF BUSINESS CARRIED ON IN SAID CITY ETC," ADOPTED MAY 270 19189 be taken up for its first reading. The Ordinance was read. On motion the Ordinance was declared read for the first time and laid over to next meeting. It was moved that the City Engineer be authorized instructed to have the City maps corrected to date new prints made for City use. It was moved that the request.of the Park Supertindent REQUEST OF PARK for extra help be referred to the Public Works Committee SUPT. REFERRED TO with power to act, P. W. COMMITTEE.
