P- , , AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA: 1, That, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, proceedings have been initiated by the Council of the City of Azusa, on its own motion, to annex to the City of Azusa all that uninhabited territory situate in the County of Los Angeles State of California, hereby designated as it EASTERLY ANI7EXATI6N N0. 8 and descri e as o lows: Description of Proposed ' NUSTBRLY ANUIATION NO,69 to the City of Asusa (Revised) All that real property situated in the County of Log Angeles, Statc of California, described as followst Bo ening at the most northeasterly corner of Lot 78 of Tract No. 20495 as shown on nap recorded in Book 556, Pages 39 rough 44 of Daps in the office of the Count Recorder of said Court said corner being a point in the boundary of the City of Azusa as same existed on November 21st, 1955; thence proceeding along the northerly prolongation of the easterly line of said lot, North Oe 00150" bast a distance of 453.23 feet, more or less, to the intor,- section with the centerline of Alosta Avenue formerly knotan ac Fifth Street, 60 feet wide, As described in lead to the County of Los Angeles recorded as Document No. 1417 on November 5 19250 in Book 5191, Pagge 234, Official Records of said County; deuce east_ orly ale aaid centerline to the northerly line of the State Highway,0 feet wide, as described in deed to the State of Calif- ornia, recorded as Document No. 872 on June 29th, 1933, in Book 12230, Paige 230, Official Records of said County; thence south_ a aterly along said northerly line to the intersection ;4th a line parallel with and 41.5 feet westerly measured at right angles from the most westerly line of Lot 10 of Tract No. 3472 as shown on map recorded in Book 42, Pages 11 and 12 of baps, records of said County; thence northerly on said parallel line to the westerly prolongation of that certain course in the southerly boundary of said Tract No. 3472 shown on said last mentioned map as having a bearing and length of South 89°55° Wont 599.1 feet; thence easterly along said last mentioned prolongation and certain course to the easterly terminus thereof; thence southerly in a direct line through the most southerly southwesterly corner ofLet 11 of said last mentioned treat to the norther) line of the northeast quarter of the northwest quarter of the sout�st quarter of Section 36, Township 1 North Range 10 hent, S.B.B. & K, according to the Official Plat filed in the District Land Office on April 6th, 1876; thence easterly along said last mentioned northerly line to a lino ��.__that is" -parallel with and 8.25 feet westerly measured at right angles from the easterly line of said northeast quarter of the northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 36; thence southerly along said last mentioned parallel line to tho boundary of the City of Azusa as same existed on November 219t, 1955; thence weste.•ly along said City Boundary and following the same in all its courses and directions to the point of beginning. That the Council of the City of Azusa desires to annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Azusa for the following reasons: The territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa, and its proposed annexation will contribute to and facilitate the orderly growth and development of both the City and the territory proposed to be annexed; will facilitate and contribute to the proper and orderly layout, design and construction of streets, gutters, sidewalks, sanitary and storm water sewers and drainage facilities, both within the City and within the territory proposed to be annexed; and will provide And facilitate pkgoper overall planning and zoning of lands, and subdivision of lands in said City and said uninhabited territory, in a manner most conducive to the welfare of said City and said uninhabited territory. 3. That the County Boundary Commission of Los Angeles County, California, did in session duly assembled on n , 19�, approve the proposed annexation boundar es o sail EASTERLY ANNEXATION NO. 8 " as above descr e an as submitt:ed to said Commission by the Council of the City of Azusa, •March 5 4. That Mo�nda�,sixxfk 19 56 at the hour of 8:00 'clock PM , in �he�ounci am era of t�ie�'ity Hall in the City zusa, County of Los Angeles, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning real property within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Azusa, and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before the Council of the City of Azusa and show cause why such uninhabited territory should not be so annexed to said City of Azusa. Such protest must be in writing, may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing objections to the proposed annexation, and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected, and the description and area of such property, in general terms. 5. 'The City Clerk of the City of Azusa is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in Azusa Herald and Pomotropic, a newspaper of general circulation published in said City of Azusa, the city to which it is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, and also in Glendora Press, a newspaper �a of general circulation published outside the City of Azusa, but a in the County of Los Angeles, California, the county in which is W' the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Azusa, said publication to be complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for hearing. 6. In the event any land within the territory proposed to be annexed is owned by a county, the City Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of the county, such notice to be given not 'Less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation. 8.
