A RFSOLUTIOiT OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TFEE CITY
OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA,
T'E(WISSTINO DUFTHEER FINANCIAL AID FROM THE AZUSA
SCHOOL DISC?ICT TO CATzRY ON RECREATION FACILITIES
IN SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, the City of Azusa during; the past years and
nrlor thereto, has furnished the necessary facilities for
carrying out a full and complete recreation program, not only
for the City of Azusa, but also for the area surrounding the
City of Azusa, whier is included in the Azusa School District,
and which area is adjacent to the City of Azusa, and
h'HEREAS, the nopulation 1�$�Lx�x terriitemy
embraced in the Azusa School I)istriot has greatly increased
during the hast several years-, and to such an ektent that the
children in said area making use of the recreation facilities
of the City has greatly increased, and

WHPEAS„ the, pooulation in said school district is con-
' tinu�lly growir�g and will continue to increase in the future, and

1WHEHEAS, because of sai'd.increaSe the expense in furnishing
the necessary facilities foiC a�complete recreation program has
materially increased during tnt'pastsseveral years and will
continue to inorease, and

WPEFEAS, the Park and Recreation Commission of'the City
of Azusa, after havina examined into the situation, has recom-
mended to the City -Council that it request the Azusa School
District to incregse the annual anount contributed by said
school district for sold recreation pro;ram, and
WHEFEAS, the City Council of the City of Azusa is conversant
with the whole situation and that it is its opinion tLat the
contribution for said recreation program from the Azusa School
Distruct be increased over and,aoove what it has heretofore
contributed towards said program, and
WHEREAS, the cost of operating said recreation program

said program during the hast year has been at an exoense of
$22,500
00,
of which
the City of Azusa has paid at least
$15,000
00,
and
ERE?S, tie ext)ense, if the area embraced in the school
district is to be taken care of in the future, will be greatly
in excess of ~22,500.00, and
'ME�TA_S, tip sa d School Districti has heretofore contributed
only tre sum of 'S7500.00 annually.
