A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN REAL
PROPERTY FROM CALIFORNIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as
follows:
SECTION 1. That the City purchase and acquire from
California Institute of Technology, in consideration of the sum of
^$1,000.00, a clear and marketable title to the following described
real property, to -wit:
Those portions of Lot 50 of Subdivision No. 2 Azusa
Land and water Co. in the City of Azusa, County of
Los Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded
in Book 43, Page 94 of Miscellaneous Records, des-
cribed as follows:
Parcel 1. Beginning at a point in the north line of
sai3To£ distant west 665 feet from the northeast
corner of said lot, thence along said line west 25
feet; thence south parallel to the east line of
said lot and 25 feet distant therefrom a distance
of 690 feet more or less to the northerly line of
the land described in deed recorded in book 13994, page
201, Official Records; thence along said last mentioned
line of said land easterly 25 feet to the west line
of the east 665 feet of said lot which passes through
the point of beginning; thence northerly along said
west line to the point of beginning.
Excluding therefrom any property west of the easterly
line of the land described in deed recorded in book
5186, page 335, Official Records.
Parcel 2. Beginning at the southwest corner of said
o Fence northerly along west line of said lot
40 feet; thence easterly parallel with the south
line of said lot and 40 feet distant therefrom a
distance of 630 feet more or less to a point 25 feet
west of the west line of the east 665 feet of said
lot; thence northerly and parallel to the west line
of the east 665 feet of said lot and 25 feet distant
therefrom a distance of 490 feet more or less to the
south line of land described in deed recorded in book
13994, page 201, Official Records; thence easterly
along said last mentioned south line of said land 25
feet to the west line of the east 665 feet of said
lot; thence southerly along said last mentioned west
line 530 feet more or less to the south line of said
lot; thence westerly along the south line of said
lot 655 feet more or less to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. That the Administrative Officer be authorized
and directed to open an escrow with California Institute of Technology
on behalf of the City of Azusa for the purchase of said real property.
SECTION 3. That upon the purchase of said real property,
in addition to the payment of the purchase price above set forth,
the City of Azusa will:
(1) Relocate and reinstall the existing fence along
the new property line.

(2) Increase the width of the pavement in Paramount
Avenue to 48 feet and install concrete curb and gutter on the
north side of that street between the centerline of Jackson and
the centerline of Virginia Avenue.
(3) Increase the width of the pavement in Virginia
Avenue to 36 feet and provide a rolled asphalt drainage gutter
on the west side of said street between First Street and Paramount
Avenue.
(4) Provide a sewer lateral to the curbline on the
west side of Virginia Avenue approximately 436.5 feet north of the
south property line of the California Institute of Technology
property.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and shall transmit a certified copy thereof to
the California Institute of Technology.
Adopted and approved this 19th day of November , 1956.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly
adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 19th day of November 1956, by the following
vote of the Council:
AYES: Councilmen: Fawcett, Ortuno, Yemmesheimer, Johnson, Romero
NOES: Councilmen: None
