RESOLUTION NO. 3478
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA PROTESTING THE FINANCING OF A PROPOSED
CIVIC AUDITORIUM AND MUSIC CENTER BY THE COUNTY
OF LOS ANGELES.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as
follows:
SECTION 1. That the financing of the proposed Civic
Auditorium and Music Center in the City of Los Angeles at general
county expense is contrary to the welfare and best interests of the
City of Azusa and to those portions of the County of Los Angeles
outside the City of Los Angeles and away from the immediate vicinity
of the proposed Auditorium and Music Center; that the said proposed
improvement will not be to the advantage of the City of Azusa but,
on the contrary, will be to its.disadvantage as entering into compe-
tition with the City of Azusa for conferences, conventions and other
events which might otherwise be held outside of the downtown area
of the City of Los Angeles; and that it is unfair and inequitable that
the cost of any such improvements be borne in whole or in part by the
City of Azusa or by the inhabitants or property owners thereof.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution and forward a certified copy thereof to
the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles.
Adopted and approved this 24th day of July, 1956.
