RESOLUTION NO. 3459
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA,
DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED BY
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA TO ANNEX TO SAID
CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HERE-
IN AND DESIGNATED AS "EASTERLY ANNEXATION NO. 14"
AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES RESOLVE AS
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the provisions of.the Annexation
of the Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 proceedings have been initiated
by the City Council of the City of Azusa on its own motion to annex to
the City of Azusa all of that uninhabited territory situated in the
County of Los Angeles, State of California, hereby designated as
"Easterly Annexation No. 14" and described as follows:
All that real property situated in the County of Los Angeles,
State of California, described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the northerly line of the southeast
quarter of the northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of
Section 36, Township 1 North, Range 10 West, S.B.B. & M., according
to the Official Plat filed in the District Land Office on April 6th,
1876, said point being distant 8.25 feet westerly, measured at right
angles from the easterly line of the northeast quarter of the northwest
quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 36, said point being a point
in the boundary of the City of Azusa as same existed on May 1st, 1956;
thence proceeding northerly along a line parallel with and 8.25 feet
westerly measured at right angles from said easterly line of said
northeast quarter of the northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of
Section 36 to the northerly line of said northeast quarter of the
northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 36; thence westerly
on the northerly line and southerly on the westerly line of said north-
east quarter of the northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of
Section 36 to a point in said last mentioned westerly line distant
southerly 227.26 feet from the northwest corner of said northeast
quarter of the northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of Section
36; thence westerly in a direct line to a point described as follows:
A point in the westerly line of Citrus Avenue, 41.5 feet wide,
as described in deed to the County of Los Angeles.recorded as Document
No. 988 on November 25, 1930 in Book 10388, page 381, Official Records
of said county, distant southerly measured along said westerly line of
Citrus Avenue 211.83 feet from the southwesterly line of the State
Highway, 80 feet wide, as described in deed to the State of California,
recorded as Document No. 872 on June 29, 1933 in Book 12230, page 230,
Official Records of said County;
Thence westerly along a line at right -angles to said westerly
line of Citrus Avenue a distance of 200.00 feet, the bearing of this
course being taken as North 89058130" West, based on a bearing for
said westerly line of Citrus Avenue, of North 0001'30" East which is
taken as the basis for all hereinafter mentioned bearings; thence
northwesterly along a line bearing North 71047140" West a distance of
655.00 feet; thence southwesterly along a line bearing South 18012120"
West a distance of 201.00 feet; thence southeasterly along a line bearing
South 71047'40" East a distance of 687.16 feet; thence easterly along
a line bearing South 89058'30" East a distance of 232.16 feet, more or
less, to said westerly line of Citrus Avenue; thence easterly in a direct
line to a point in the westerly line of said northeast _quarter of the
northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of,Section 36 distant southerly
428.26, feet from the northwest corner of said northeast quarter of the
northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 36; thence southerly
on said westerly line of said northeast quarter -of the northwest quarter
of the southwest quarter of Section 36 to_the boundary -of the City of
Azusa as same existed on May 1st, 1956; thence easterly along said City
Boundary and following the same in all its courses and directions to the
point of beginning.

SECTION 2. That the City Council of the City of Azusa desires
to annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Azusa for the follow-
ing reasons: The territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa and its
proposed annexation will contribute to and facilitate the orderly growth
and development of both of the city and the territory proposed to be
annexed; that the area is served by the sewage system of the city and
its annexation to the city will facilitate and contribute to the proper
and orderly layout, design and construction of sanitary and storm water
sewers and drainage facilities both within the city and the territory

proposed to be annexed.
SECTION 3. That the county boundary commission of Los Angeles
County, California did in sessibn duly assembled on May 31, 1956, approve
the proposed annexation boundaries of said "Easterly Annexation No. 14"
as above described and as submitted to said commission by the City
Council of said city.
SECTION 4. August 6, 1956, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M.
in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, City of Azusa, County of Los
Angeles, State of California, hereby is fixed as the time and place
when and where any persons owning real property within the uninhabited
territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of
Azusa and having any objections or protests to the proposed annexation
may appear before the City Council of the City of Azusa and show cause
why such uninhabited territory should not be so annexed to the City of
Azusa. Such protests must be in writing, may be filed at any time
before the hourz�set for hearing objections or protests to the proposed
annexation, and shall state the name of the owner of the property affected
and the description and area of such property in general terms.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk of the City of Azusa hereby is
authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be pub-
lished at least twice, but not oftener than once a week in the Azusa
Herald and Pomotropic, a newspaper of general circulation published in

the City of Azusa, the city to which it is proposed to annex the afore-
said territory, and also in the Glendora Press, a_newspaper of general
circulation published outside the City of Azusa but in the County of
Los Angeles, State of California, the county in which is located the
territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Azusa, said publication
to be completed at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for
hearing.
SECTION 6. The said City Clerk is further authorized and
directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be
mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to
be annexed was assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll
available on the date the above said proceedings were initiated, at the
addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to said Clerk, and to
any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of
the lands in which he has an interest, either legal or equitable, with
said Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days
before the first puhlic hearing on the proposed annexation.
SECTION 7. In the event any land within the territory
proposed to be annexed is owned by a county, the City Clerk is directed
to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the
Board of Supervisors of such county, such notice to be given not less
than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed
annexation.
SECTION 8. In the event there is, upon the land proposed to
be annexed to said city, a structural improvement owned, being acquired
or leased by a county fire protection district, the City Clerk is
directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be
mailed to the governing body of such district, such notice to be sent
not less than ten (10) days before the first public hearing upon such
proposed annexation.
SECTION g. The City Clerk is directed to cause written -notice
to be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto,
in the manner required by law.
SECTION 10. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption and
passage of this Resolution and the same shall thereupon take effect
and be in force.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting
of said Council of said City, held in the regular Council Chambers
of said City Council in said City, June 18th, 1956, and that the%
same was passed by the following vote of the Council.
