"'2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE OFFICIAL COUNT AND CANVASS OF THE VOTERS OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON APRIL 10, 1956. The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election was held and conducted In the City of Azusa, Los Angeles County, State of California, on Tuesday, the 10th day of April, 1956, as required by law; and WHEREAS, it appears that notice of said election was duly and regularly given and that there were nine voting precincts established for said election consisting of consolidation of regular city precincts for holding State and County elections as the same were and are established by the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County, California; that election officials were appointed and election supplies furnished and that in all respects said election was held and conducted and returns thereof made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the General Election Laws of the State of California governing elections in cities of the fifth and sixth classes; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Azusa met at the Council Chambers of said Council on Tuesday, the lith day of April, 1956, to canvass the returns of said election and install the newly elected officers, whereupon said Council found that the number of votes cast, the names of the persons voted for, the result of said election and other matters required by law to be as hereinafter stated. NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved and declared as follows: That said. regular Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of Azusa, California, on Tuesday, the 10th day of ,April, 1956, in the time, form and manner as required by law. That there were nine voting precincts established for the purpose of holding said election, consisting of a consolidation of the regular election precincts established for holding general, state and county elections. That the whole number of votes cast in said election in said City of Azusa was J1440 , number of absentee ballots 1/9 , total 1449 . Memmesheimer and Anthony M. Ortuno were each elected to the office of member of the City Council of the City of Azusa, California, each for a term of four years; That James Miller was elected to the office of City Clerk of the City of Azusa, California, for a term of four years; That Alec Watkins was elected to the office of City Treasurer of the City of Azusa, California, for a term of four years; That Proposition No. 1 was carried with a majority vote and is hereby declared to be passed and adopted as an amendment to Section 2 of the Initiative Civil Service Ordinance of the City of Azusa; that Proposition No. 2 was carried by a majority vote and Is hereby declared to be passed and adopted as an amendment to Section 5 of the Initiative Civil Service Ordinance of the City of Azusa; that Proposition No. 3 was carried by a majority vote and Is hereby declared to be passed and adopted as an amendment to Subsection B of Section 6 of the Initiative Civil Service Ordinance of the City of Azusa; that Proposition No. 4 was carried by a majority vote and is hereby declared to be passed and adopted as an amendment to Section 7 of the Initiative Civil Service Ordinance of the City of Azusa; that Proposition No. 5 was carried by a majority vote and is hereby declared to be passed and adopted as an amendment to Section 7 of the Initiative Civil Service Ordinance of the City of Azusa; that Proposition No. 6 was carried by a majority vote and is hereby declared to be passed and adopted as an amendment to Section 7 of the Initiative Civil Service Ordinance of the City of Azusa; that Proposition No. 7 was carried by a majority vote and is hereby declared to be passed and adopted as an amendment to Section 7 of the Initiative Civil Service Ordinance of the City of Azusa; that Proposition No. 8 was carried by a majority vote and is hereby declared to be passed and adopted as an amendment to Sections 10 and 11 of the Initiative Civil Service Ordinance of the City of Azusa; that Proposition No. 9 was carried by a majority vote and is hereby declared to be passed and adopted as an amendment to Section 15 of the Initiative Civil Service Ordinance of the City of Azusa; that Proposition No. 10 was carried by a majority vote and is hereby declared to be passed and adopted; ' BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall immediately take and deliver to each of said persons so elected a Certificate of Election signed by him and duly authenticated; that he shall also impose, or have imposed, the constitutional oath of office upon said persons so elected as members of the City Council and have them subscribe thereto and file the same in said office; that thereupon each and all of said persons so elected to said respective offices shall be inducted in said respective office to which they have been elected; that Propositions No. 1, 2, 31 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 so� are hereby declared to have been carried by a majority vote and are hereby declared to be effective amendments to that part of Initiative Civil Service Ordinance ax�8xaaax�sHaxhxxdxx$acaeaTxtax�xxs88x�kkxe of the City of Azusa as hereinbefore set forth.
