The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa met in
regular session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Trustees: Pierce, Meier, Case,
Moon, City Attorney and City Clerk. Absent: Chenoweth.
The following Ordinance was presented:
"AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, GRANTING TO UNION ROCK COMPANY, A CORPORATION,
THE RIGHT TO CONSTRUCT AND MAINTAIN A SPUR TRACK ACROSS
CENTRE STREET."
It was moved that the same be taken up for its second
'reading;
Carried by the following vote: .Ayes: Pierce, Meier, Case.
Noes: None. Not voting: Moon. Absent: Chenoweth.
The Ordinance was read..
It was moved that the Ordinance be declared read for the
second time and taken up for its third reading and final
passage.
Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Pierce, Meier, Case.
Noes: None. Not voting: Moon. Absent: Chenoweth.
The Ordinance was read.
It was moved that the Ordinance be adopted as read.
Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Pierce, Meier, Case.

Trustee Meier called away.
The minutes of the regular meeting held July 17th,
were read and approved as read.
It was moved and carried that all bids for the improve-
ment of Orange, Lemon and Sunset Avenues be now opened,
examined and publicly declared..
The bid of J. L. Wilsford for Five Thousand ($5000.00)
Dollars was read and on motion the same was referred to
the City Engineer for examination and report.
'The City Engineer presented a written report which was
on motion duly carried, approved and ordered placed on
file.
It was moved that all bids be rejected and that the City
Engineer be authorized and instructed to negotiate for
and procure all labor and material necessary for the con-
struction and completion of street work on portions of
Orange, Lemon and Sunset Avenues in the City of Azusa,
subject to the approval of the Bo ard.of Trustees and
that the same be done in accordance with the acquisi-
tion, construction and completion of certain streets in
the City of Azusa and the cost thereof charged to the
Street Work Bond Fund.
Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Pierce, Moon, Case.
Noes: None. Absent: Meier, Chenoweth.
It was moved that the Water & Light Superintendent be
authorized to purchase the following supplies:
1 Coil of No. 8 W. P. wire
24 4 Pin Cross -arms
24 Through bolts
1 Sack pins
1 Box P. & B. Tape
Box Fuse Plugs (30 amp.)
1 Box Fuse Plugs (20 amp.)
1 10 Amp. 3 wire meter
Pipe fittings not to exceed $50.00
10 5/8 Water meters.
