HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 5260 0 309 RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO, 526 A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF TIS CITY OF AZUSA DECLARING ITS.INTENTION TO IMPROVE A PORTION OF ELEVENTH STRET IN SAID CITY, AND CONTAINING A NOTICE OF THE DAY, HOUR AND PLACE NIMH ARID WHERE ANY ACID ALL PERBONS HAVING ANY OBJECTIONS TO THE PROPOSED WIRK OR IMPROVEnENT MAY APPEAR BEFORE SAID BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF SAID CITY AND SHOW CAUSE .WHY SAID PRO° POSED IMPROVEMENT SHOULD NOT BE CARRIED OUT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID RESOLUTION, AND DETERMINING THAT BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT THE COST THEREOF AND DECLARING THE WORK OR IMPROVEMENT TO BE OF MORE THAN LOCAL OR ORDINARY PUBLIC BENEFIT AND THAT THE EXPENSE OF SAID WORK SHALL BE ASSESSED UPON A DISTRICT UNDER THE IMPROVEI.EAT ACT OF 1911. The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa do resolve as follows: Section -1. That the public interest and convenience require, and it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa, State of California, to order the following street work to be done in said City, towit: 1st. That all that portion of the roadway of Eleventh Street 20 feet in width and being the southerly 20 feet of the Northerly 40 feet of said street, and between the Westerly line of Azusa Avenue and the easterly line of Vernon Avenue prolonged northerly across said Eleventh Street and including all intersec- tions of streets add alleys, be graded and oiled in accordance with plan, profile and cross sections No. 50-A and in further accor- dance with special specifications therefor adopted by Resolution No. 525 of the Board of T ustees of said City. 2nd. That a corrugated iron pipe culvert, 15 inches in internal diameter and 30 feet in length, with the center line thereof parallel with and distant 60 feet westerly from the westerly line of Synset Avenue prolonged Northerly across said Eleventh Street, and from a line parallel with and distant 15 feet southerly from the northerly line ofsaid Eleventh Street, to a line parallel with and distant 451feet southerly from the northerly line of said Eleventh Street, be constructed in accordance with plan, profile and cross section No. 50-A and in further accor- dance with special specifications therefor adopted by Resolution No. 525 of the Board of Trustees of sail City. All plans, profiles and cross sections referred to in this Resolution are on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City. SECTION 2. Notice is hereby given that December 31st, 1917, at 7;30 p.m, at the City Hall of said City of Azusa, located at the Northeast corner of Centre Street and Alameda Avenue in said City is the day, hour and place when and where any and all persons having any objections to the proposed work or improvement may apear before the Board of Trustees of the said City of Azusa and show cause why said ;roposed improvement should not be carried out in ac•.ordence with this Resolution. SECTIOi: 3. Section 4. The City.Engineer is directed to make a dia- gram of the property affected or benefitted by the proposed wort: or improvement as described in the Resolution of Intention and to be a.f.sessed to pay true expenses thereof. Such diagram shall show each separate lot, piece or parcel of land, the area in square feet of each of said lots, pieces or parcels of land, e.nd the relative location of the same to the wort: proposed to be done, all within tle limits of the assessment district. Section 5. The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa determines th�.t serial bonds shall be issued to represent each assessment of twenty-five (0:15.00) Dollars or over, .or the cost of said work or improvennents; said serial bonds slia.11 extend over a period ending Niie (9) years from and after the second day of January next succeeding the date of said bonds and shall bear interest et the rate of Seven (7%) percent per annum, and an even annual proportion of the principal sum thereof shall be payable, by coupon, on the second day of January every year after their date until the whole is paid; and the interest shall be payable simi-annually, by coupon, on -the second days of January and July, res-etively, of each year, at the rate of Seven (7%) percent per annus: on all sums unpaid, until the whole of said principal and interest are paid. Section 6. All of the proceedings for the aforesaid improvement and for the issuance of said bonds shall be taken under end in accordance with the provisions of an Avt of the Legislature of the State of California, hnoivn and designated as the Improvement Act of 1911", and of all Acts supplementary thereto and amendatory thereof. Section 7. The Superintendent of Streets of said City of Azusa is hereby directed to post Notices of the passaCe of this Resolution in the manner and in the fonri required by law. Section S. The City Clerk of the City of Azusa ahall certify to the pa,2sace of tbis Resolution and small cause the sF-me 312 0 0 to be published twicei-ih"The Pomotropic", a weekly newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in said City of Azusa.
