RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa California, having in open session on tree 17th day of April, 1917. opened, exeminea ana publicly declared all sealed proposals or bids offered for the following street work, to-wit: 1st. That ail that portion of the roadway of Eleventh Street 20 feet in width and being the Southerly 20 feet of the Northerly 40 feet of said street, ana between the 'lesterly line of Azusa Avenue and. the Easterly line of Vernon Avenue prolonged northerly across said Eleventh Street and including all intersections of streets and alleys, be graded and oiled in accordance with plan, profile agd cross-sections No. '50 and in further accordance with special specifications therefor adopted by Resolution No. 506 of the Board of Trustees of said City. 2nd. That a corrugated iron pipe culvert, 15 inches in in- ternal diameter and 30 feet in length,- with the center line thereof being parallel with and distant 60 feet Westerly from f 290 the Westerly line of Sunset Avenue prolonged Northerly across said Eleventh Street, and from a line parallel with and distant 15 feet southerly from the Northerlu line of said Eleventh Street, to a line parallel with and distant 45 feet southerly from the northerly line of said Eleventh Street, be constructed in accordance with plan, profile and cross sections No. 50 and in :furhter accordance with special specification therefor adop- ted by Resolution No . 506 of the Board of Trustees of said City. All plans, profiles and cross sections referred to in this Resolution are ban file in the office of the City Engineer of • said City. All sped .l specifications referred to in this Res- olution are 71 file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, and all said plans, profiles and cross sections No . 50 and said special specifications were adopted for said work by the Board of Trustees of said City by Resolution No . 506. Said plans, profiles, cross sections and special specific;,;: ationL are hereby referred to for a more particular description of said work and matte a part hereof. The said contemelated work or improvement, in the opinion of said Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa is of more than local or ordinary benefit and the said Board of Trustees, by said Resolution of Intention No . 507, made the expense of said work or improvement chargeable upon a district in said City of Azusa, which the said Board of Trustees in the said Resolution of Intention declared to be the district benefited by the said work or improvement and to be assessed to pay the cost and expense thereof, which said district is more part- icularly described in the said resolution of intention. The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa determines that serial bonds shall be issued to represent assessments of twenty fiv-e (4 2b.00) ,r over for the cost of said work or improve- ment; said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9 ) years fr-c n and after the second day of January next succeeding the sale of said bonds , and an even annual propor- tion of the princil)al sum thereof shall be payable, by coupon, on the second day of January every year after their date until the whole is paid; and the interest shall be payable 291, • semi-annuai!ly, by coupon, o : the second days of January and July respectively of each year, at the rate of seven (7) per cent per anum on all sums unpaid, until the whole. of said principal and interest are paid. Said bonds shill be issued in accordance with the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, entitled"An Act to provide a sys- tem of. street improvement bonds to represent certain assess- ments for the cost of street wore; and improvement within municipalities, and also for the, pa orient of such bonds, " ap- proved February 27, 1893, and of all acts suppleentary thereto or amendatory thereof. And said Board of Trustees hereby rejects all of said bids except that next herein mentioned and hereby awards the con- tract for said work to the lowest, regular, responsible bidder to-wit: To: John Janett at the prices specified in his proposal on file for said work, to-wit: Grading and oiling por lineal foot .78 cents Corrugated iron culvert complete 40 dollars The Poizotropic , a weekly newspaper of general circulation published and circulated i-ri said City of Azusa, is hereby designated as the newspaper in which the:, Notice of this award shall be published in the manner and by the person required oy law. The City Clerk of said City of Azusa is hereby directed to post notice of this Award with specifications conspicuously for five days on or near the chamber door of the Board of Trus- tees of said city and also to publish said notice by one in- sertion in said weekly newspaper.
