RESOLUTION NO, 509
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA
ORDERING CERTAIN STREET WORK TO BE DONE ON A PORTION OF ELEVENTH
STREET IN SAID CITY AND DETERMINING THAT BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED
TO REPRESENT THE COST TI-EREOF AND DECLARING THE WORK OR IMPROVE°
I1 NT TO BE OF MORE THAN LOCAL OR ORDINARY PUBLIC BENEFIT AND THAT
THE EXPENSE OF SAID WORK OR IMPROVEMENT SHALL BE ASSESSED UPON
A DISTRICT.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa do resolve as
follows:
Section 1. That the street work herein described is re-
quired by the public interest and convenience and the Board of
Trustees of the City of Azusa, State of California, hereby orders
the same to be done according to the specifications and plans
adopted for said work and under the, direction end to the sat-
isfaction of the Superintendent of streets of said City, to-wit:
1st . That all that portion of the roadway of Eleventh
Street 20 feet in width and being the Southerly 20 feet of the
Northerly 40 feet of said street, and between the Westerly
line of Azusa Avenue and the easterly line of Vernon Avenue
prolonged northerly across said Eleventh Street and including
all intersections of streets and alleys, be graded and oiled in
accordance with plan, profile and cross sections No. 50 and in
further acfprdence with special specifications therefor adopted
by Resolution No. 506 of the Board of Trustees of said City.
2nd. That a corrugated iron pipe culvert, 15 inches in in-
ternal diameter and 30 feet in length, with the center line there-
of being para± Lel (with end distant 60 feet Westerly from the
Westerly line of Sunset Avenue prolonged northerly across said
Eleventh Street, and from a line parallel with and distant 15
feet Southerly from the Northerly line of said Eleventh Street,
to a line parallel with and distant 45 feet Southerly from the
Northerly line of said Eleventh Street, be constructed in ac-
cordance with plan, profile and cross sections No. 50 and in
further accordance with special specifications therefor adopted
oy Resolution No. 506 of the Board of Trustees of said (Jity.
All plans, profiles v.- d cross sections referred to in this
Resolution_ are on file in the office of the City Engineer of
said City. All special specifications referred to in this res.-
ol'..tion are on file in the ofiee of the City Clerk of said

City and all plans, profiles and cross-sections No. 50 and said
special specifications were adopted for said work by the Board
of Trustees of said City by Resolution No. 506.
Said Aland, profiles, cross sections and special specifi-
cations are hereby referred to for a more particular description
of said work and made a part hereof.
SECTION 2. That said contemplated work or improvement, in
the opinion of the said Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa,
is of more than local or ordinary public benefit and the said
Board of T.L'ust :es , by resolution of lnetntion No. 507, made the
espense of said work or improvement chargeable upon a district
in said City o:t Azusa, Which the said Board of Trustees in the
said Resolution of Intention declared to be the district LJene.-
fited by the said work or improvement and to be assessed to pay
the cost eno. expenses thereof, which said district :is more
particularly described in the said resolution of intention.
Section 3. The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa de-
termines that se-'ial bonds shall be issued to represent assess-
ments of twenty-fire dollars 025.00) or over for the cost of
said work or improvement; said serial bonds shall extend over a
period ending nine (9) years from and after the second day of
January next succeeding the sale of said bonds, and an even an-
nual proportion of the principal sun thereof shall be payable,
by coupon, on the second day of January every year after their
date until the whole is paid; and the interest shall be payable
semi-annually, by coupon, on the second days of January and
July, res-oectively, of each year, at the rate of seven (7 ) per
cent per ann mi on all sums unpaid, until the Whole of said
principal endd interest are paid. Said bonds shall be issued in
accordance with the provisions of en Act of the Legislature of
the Stage of California, entitled, "An Act to provide a system
of Street improvement bonds to represent certain assessments
for the cost of street work and improvement within municipalities
and also for the payment of such bonds, " approved February 27th
1893, and of all acts supplementary thereto or amendatory there-
of.
Section 4. The City Engineer is directed to make a dia-
gram of the property dffected or benefitted by the proposed
work or improvement as described in the Resolution of Intention
No. 507 and to be asseu_yea to pay the expenses trieteof. Such
diagram shall show each separate lot, piece or parcel of land,
the area in square feet of each said lots, pieces or parcels of
land and the relative location of the same to the work proposed
to be done, all within the limits of the assessment district.
Section 5. The Pomotropic. a weekly newspaper of general
circulation, published and circulated in said city of Azusa,
is hereby designated as the newspaper in which this resolution
and notice of said work, inviting sealed proposals, shall be
published in the manner and form and by the persons required by
law.
Section 6. The City Clerk of the City of Azusa is hereby
directed to post conspicuously for :give days, on or near the
chamber door of the Board of Trustees, in the Manner and form re-
quired by law, a notice, with specifications, inviting sealed
proposals or bids for doing said work; and said City Clergy: is
hereby directed to publish for two days in said newspaper hereby
designated as aforesaid, in the manner and in the form required
by law, a notice of said work, inviting sealed proposals or
bids for doing said work, and referring to specifications
Posted and on file. Said Notice shall require a certified check
or bond, either as prescribed by law, for an amount not le
than ten per cent, of the aggregate of the proposal. Said City
Clerk is also directed to publish this resolution for two days
in the mmner required by law in said newspaper designated for
that purpose, as aforesaid.
