A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF TIE BOARD OF TRUSTIES
OF THE CITY OF AZUSA TECLARING ITS INTENTION TO IMPROVE A
PORTION OF FTJEVENTH STREET IN SAID CITY, AND DETERMINING
THAT BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT THE COST THEROF
AND DECLARING G THE WORK OR INisROVEMENT. TO BE OF MORE THAM
LOCAL OR ORDINARY PUBLIC BEg FIT AND THAT THE EXOENSE OF
SAID WORK SHATJ, BE ASSESSED UPON A DISTRICT.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa do re-
solve as follows:
Section 1. That the public interest and convenience
require, and it is the intention of, ,the Boar& of Trustees
of the City of Azusa, State of California, to order the
following work to be clone in said City, to-wit:
1st. That all that portion of the roadway of Wleventh
Street 20 feet in width _and being the southerly 20 feet
®f the northerly 40 feet of said street, and between the
westerly line of Azusa Avertuei and the easterly line of
Vernon Avenue prolonged northerly across said Eleventh
Street and including all intersections of streets and
alleys, be graded and oiled in accordance with plan, pro-
file and cross sections No. 50 and in further accordance
'with special specifications therefor adopted by Resolution
No. 506 of the Board of Trustees of said City.

2nd. That a corrugated iron pipe culvert, 15 inches
in internal diameter and 30 feet in length, with the center
line thereof being parallel with and distant 60 feet
westerly from the westerly line of Sunset Avenue prolonged
northerly across said Eleventh Street, and from a line
parallel with and distant 15 feet southerly from the north-
erly line of said Eleventh Street, to a line parallel with
and distant 45 feet southerly from the northerly line of
said Eleventh Street, be constructed in accordance with
plan, profile and cross section No. 50 and in further
accordance with special specification therefor adopted
by Resolution No. 506 of the Board of Trustees of said
City.
All plans, profiles and cross sections referred
in this Resolution are on file in the office of the City
Engineer of said City. All special specifications re-
ferred to in this Resolution are on file in the office of
the City Clerk of said city and all said plans, profiles
and cross sections No. 50 and said special sBecifica•tions
were adopted for said work by the Board of Trustees of
said City by Resolution No. 506.
Said plans, profiles, cross sections and special
specifications are hereby referred to for a more partic-
ular description of said work and made a part hereof.
Section 2. That the said contemplated work or im-
provement in the opinion of the said Board of Trustees
of said city of Azusa is of more than local or ordina.nny
public benefit and said Board of Trustees declares that
the district in the said city of Azusa benefited by said
work or improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs
and expenses thereof, is described as follows:
All that portion of the City of Azusa included
within the following exterior boundary line, to-tit:

Beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 1, Block 5,
of Azusa, as per map recorded in Book 15, page 93 et seq. ,
of Miscellaneous Records in the Recorder's Office of
Los Angeles County, thence southerly along the easterly
line of said Lot 1 to the southeasterly corner thereof;
thence westerly, palrallel with the southerly line of
Eleventh Street and distant 50 feet southerly therefrom
to a point on the easterly line of Angele .o Avenue; thence
southwesterly in a direct line to the southeast corner of
Lot 1 of Block A liof the Azusa Heights Tract, as per n '
theveof recorded .on Page 49 of Book 11 of Maps in the
County Recorder's office of said County; thence westerly
parallel with the southerly line of said Eleventh Street
and distant 140 feet southerly therefrom, to a point on
the easterly line of Vernon Avenue; thence northerly
along said easterly line of Vernon Avenue and the north-
erly prolongation thereof to a point 200 feet northerly
from the northerly line of said Eleventh Street; thence
easterly parallel with and distant 200 feet northerly
from the northerly line of Eleventh Street to a point
on the westerly line of Azusa Avenue ; thence southerly
along the westerly line of said Azusa Avenue to the
place of beginning; excepting therefrom any portion of
any public street or alley which may be included within
the above described district, all as shown on Map No. 300
approved by the Board of Trustees of said City on the 6th
day of February, 1917, and on file in the office of the
City Engineer of said City, to which said map reference
is hereby made for a more complete and detailed descrip-
tion of said district.
Section 3. The City Engineer is directer to make
a diagram of the property affected or benefitted by the
proposed work or improvement as described in the Resolution
of Intention and to be assessed to pay the pxptsses thereof.
Such diagram shall show each separate lot, peice or par-
cel of land, the area in square feet of each of said lots
pieces or parcels of land and the relative location of

the same to the work proposed to be done, all within the
limits of the assessment district.
Section 4. The $db,±d of Trustees of the City of Azusa
determines that serial bonds shall be issued to represent
assessments of twenty-five dollars y 25.00) or over for
the cost of said work or improvement; said serial bonds
shall extend ober a per-ioa ending nine years from and
after the second day of January next succeeding the date
of said bonds, and an even annual proportion of the prin-
cipal sum thereof shall be payable, by coupon, on the
second day of January every -year after, their date until
the whole is paid; and the interest shall be payable
semi-annually by coupon, on the second daysof January
and July, respectively, of each year, at the rate of
seven ( 7) per cent per annum on all sums unpaid, until
the whole is said r rincipal and interest are paid. Said
bonds shall be issued in accordance with the provisions
of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California,
entitled, " An Act to provide a system of street improve-
ment bonds to represent -certain assessments for the cost
of street work and improvement within municipalities,
and also for the 7, ayment of such bonds, " approved Feb-
ruary 27th, 1893, and of all Acts supplementary thereto
or amendatory thereof,
Section 5. The Pomotropic, a w: ekly newspaper of
general circulation, published and circulated in said
City of Azusa,' is hereby designated as the newspaper
in which this Resolution of Intention and notice of the
passage thereof shall be published in the manner and by
the persons required by law.
Section 6. The Superintendent of Streets of said City
of Azusa is hereby directed to post Notices i -f the passage
of this Resolution in the manner and in the form required
by law, and to cause a similar notice to be published
by one insertion in said newspaper jig. the manner required
by law. `
Section 6. The City Clerk of the City of Azusa is

hereby directed to post this Resolution of Intention
conspicuously for two days on or near the Chamber door
of the said Board of Trustees, and to cause the same to
be published by two insertions in the manner required by
law in said newspaper.

SAID VIORK SHALL BE ASSESSED UPON A DISTRICT.
