RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
NUMBER - 4 63
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO IMPROVE A PORTION -OF
DALTON AVENUE IN THE -CITY OF AZUSA, AND DETIMMINING THAT
SERIAL BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT THE COST THEREOF.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa do resollwe
as follows:
Section 1. .That the public interest and convenience
require, and it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of
the City of Azusa, State of California, to order the follow-
ing street work to be done in said City of Azusa, to -wit:
FIRST: That a cement sidewalk, five, (5) feet in
width be constructed along each side of Dalton Avenue,
from the southerly property line of eleventh street to a linea
drawn across said Dalton Avenue, between the southeast corner
of Lot 4, -Block 199 lisp of Azusa, as per map thereof recorde&:
in book 15, page 93 of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles
County, State of California, and the southwest corner of Lot
15, block 18 of said map of Azusa; and also that a cement
side walk five (5) feet in width be constructed along each
Bide of Dalton Avenue from a line drawn across said Dalton
Avenue, between the Northeast corner &f Lot 37, Block 30 of
said Uap•of Azusa, and the Northwest corner of Lot 22, Block
18 of said map of Azusa, to the nctherly line of Second Street
in said City, in.accordange with the plans, profiles, and
cross-sections numbered.B 40 and B 41, and in further ac-
cordance'with specifications No. 10 of said City, except
along such portions of said Dalton Avenue, upon which a
cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width has already been
constructed and now -is to the official line and grade in
accibrdance with and where shown upon the. improvement plans,
profiles, and erose -sections No. B 40 and B 41, and in fur-
ther accordance with specifications to for the construction
of cement sidewalks in the City of Azusa.
SECOND: That a cement curb,'Class B, be constructed
along each side of Dalton Avente, from, -.the southerly line
of Eleventh -Street t7b� a.line drawn,across said Dalton
Avenue, six (6) feet, northerly along and parallel with the
northerly line of Ninth,Street; and also that a cement
curb, Class B, be constructed along each aide of Dalton
Avenue from a line drawn across said Dalton Avenuerbetween
the northeast corner of Lot 37, Block 30 of said Slap of
Azusa, and the northwest corner of Lot 22; Block 16 of
said Soap of Azusa, to a line drawn across said Dalton Avenue
six (6) feet northerly from and parallel,with the northerly
line of Centre Street; and also that a cement curb, Class B
be constructed along each side of Dalton Avenue, from a line
drawn across said Dalton Avenue parallel with and Seventy-
five (75) feet southerly from the south line of Centre
Street to the northerly line of Second Street in said City,
in accordance with the plans, profiles and cross-sections
No. B 40 and B 41, and in further accordance with specifi-
cations So. 12 of said City ( except along such portions
of said Dalton Avenue upon which said cement curb has already
been constructed and now is to the official line and grade
in accordance with and where shown upon the improvement
plans, profiles, and cross-sections No. B 40 and B,41,
and in further accordance with specifications No. 12 for the
construction of cement curbs in the City of Azusa.
THIRD: That a cement curb, Class C. be,constructed
along both sides of,Dalton Avenue, from a line drawn across
said Dalton Avenue six (6) feet northerly from and parallel
with the northerly line of Ninth Street to a line drawn
across said Dalton Avenue between the Southeast corner of
Lot 4, Block 19, of said Map of Azusa, and the Southwest
corner of Lot 15, Block 18, of said Map of Azusa, and also
that a cement curb, Class.C, be constructed along both sides
of said Dalton Avenue from a line drawn across said Dalton

Avenue six (6) feet northerly from and parallel.with the
northerly line of Centre Street to a line drawn across
Bala Dalton Avenue seventy-five (75) feet southerly and para—
llel with the southerly line of Centre Street in said
City, in accordance with and where shown upon the improvement
.plans, profiles, and cross-sections No. B. 40 and No. B 41
and in fArther accordance with specifications No. 16 of
said City, except along such portions of said Dalton Avenue
upon which said cement curbs, Class C. have already been
constructed and now is to the official line and grade in ace
cordance with and where shown upon the improvement plan,
profiles, and cmess-sections Nos. B 40 and B 41, and in
further accordance with specifications 16 for the construc-
tioai of cement curbs in the said City of Azusa.
Section 2, FIRST:. That said Board of Trustees find that
the following described Lots, pieces or parcels of land liable
to be assessed, to pay the costs and expense of the proposed
work or improvement, to -wit:
All of lots, numbered;192831495,6,79 and 46, 47, and 48,
of Block 30, on said.Map of Azusa, the title to which is
vested in the City of Azusa, a municipal corporation, are
devoted to public use: to -wit: Public Parkrpurposes, and
the Board of Trustees of said City hereby declare and de-
termines that said Lots, pieces or parcels of land shall be
included in the assessments to be made to cover the cost and
expense of said improvements.
SECOND: The Board of Trustees declares that that por-
tion of the cost and expenses of said public work or im-
provements to be assessed against the lots, pieces or parcels
of land, described -in subdivsion 1 of section 2 of this
Resolution, shall be payable by the said City of Azusa out
of the General fund of said City.
Section 3. That the Board of Trustees if the City
of Azusa determines that serial bonds shall be issued to
represent assessments of twenty-five (025.00) dollars or over
for the cost of said work or improvemebt; said serial bonds
shall extend over a perio4i.ending nine (9) years from and after
20z: • :
the,second day of January next succeeding the -date of said
bonds,and an even annual proportion of the principal sum
thereof shall be c#ayable by coupon on the second day of January
of every year after their date until the whole is paid; and
the interest shall be payable semi-annually, by coupon, on the
second day of January and July,-respective]y, of each year,
at the rate of seven (7) per cent per annum on all sums un-
paid, until the whole of said interest and principal are paid.
Said bonds shall be issued in,accordance with the provision
of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, en-
titled,"AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR WORK IN AND UPON STREETS,
AVENUES, LANES, ALL'SYS, COURTS, PLACESi AND SIDEWALKS WITHIN �
•MUNICIPALITIES AND UPON PROPERTY AND RIGHTS OF WAY OWNED BY
MUNICIPALITIES AND FOR ESTABLISHING(!AND CHANGING THE GRADES
OF ANY SUCH STREETS, AVENUES, LANES, ALLEYS, COURTS, PLACES
AND SIDEWALKS AND PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE AND PAYMENT OF
STREFT IMPROVE MT BONDS TO REPRESENT CERTAIN ASSESSMENTS FOR
THE COST THEREOF, AND PROVIDING A METHOD FOR THE PAYMENT OF
SUCH BONDS", Approved April.7th, 1911, and all acts supple-
mentary thereto or amendatory thereof.
Section4. All improvement dans, profiles, and cross-
sections hereinbefore mentioned are hereby made,a �t of
this resolution and are referred to fdr a more particular
description of said work and made a part hereof,
All spe$ifications referred to in this resolution
are on file in the office of -the City Clerk of the City of
P_zuea.
All improvement plans, profiles,, and cross-sections
referred to in this resolution are on file in the office of
the City Engineer of the City of Azusa.
.Section The Superintendent of streets of the City
of Azusa shall immediatelyu post or cause to be posted conspic-
' uously along the lines of said work and improvement, notices
of thepassage of this resolution of intention in the manner
and form required by law.
Section 6. The above Resolution is hereby designated
and in,all proceedings hereafter had thereunder shall be known
and referred to as Resolution of Intention No. 463.
Section 7. Notice is hereby given that on Monday the
18th day of January, 1916, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. of said
day, in the City Council Room, in the City Hall of the
City of Azusa, in said City, any and all persons, having
any objections to the proposed work, may appeal before the
Board of Trustees of the said City, and show cause why sa*d
proposed improvement should not be carried out in accordance
with the foregoing resolution of No. 463.
Section 8, The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this 'resolution and shall cause the same to be published
by two insertions in the Pomotropic a weekly newspaper
published in said City, and hereby designated for that pur-
pose.
