A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF
AZU3A, PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN STANDING C013TITTKNS OF SAID BOARD
AND PRE30RIBII?G THEIR DUTIES.
RESOLVED By the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa,
as follows:
Section 1. That there is hereby constituted the follow-
ing committees, the members thereof to be chosen from the Board
of Trustees of the City of Azusa, which said committees shall
be designated as follows:

ORDINANCE AND JUDICIARY 001MITTEE
PUBLIC '7ORKS COMITT::E
AUDITING AND FINANCE CO)MIITT
Section 2. Each of the foregoing committees shall be
composed of three members of the Board of Trustees, said
members to be appointed by the President of the Board of
Trustees and to act thereon during the pleasure of said Pres-
ident.
3eotion 3. It shall require a majority of any of said
committees to act, and the action of the majority of said com-
mittees shall in no case be binding upon the Board of Trustees
of the City of Azusa, except when matters are expressly referr
to any of onid committees by said Board of Trustees.
Section 4. It shall be the duty of the Purchasing Com-
mittee to purchase any and all supplies for the City or for
any Department thereof, as a majority of any of the Committee
may order. And no material or supplies shall be purchased by
any officer of the City of Azusa, or'the Purchasing Committee,
until a majority of any Committee has authorized the same, pro-
71d'ed however that the Board of 'Trustees ?aay,in open session,
order the purchase of any and all supplies or material for
the City which th(tT may deem necessary.

I or supplies shall be valid until countersigned by the City
2 Clerk and a copy thereof left with said clerk.
3 It shall be the duty of the Sanitary and police
4 Committee to investigate the sanitation and morals of the
5 City, the enforcement of the ordinances, and to generally
6 advise with the Health officer and Chief of Police concerning
7 the performance of their duties.
8 It shall be the duty of the Ordinance and Judiciary
9 Committee to investigate and to consider, before passage,
10 all ordinances and resolutions passed by the Board of Trustees
11 of the City of Azusa, and they shall from time to time reoom-
12 mend for passage such ordinances and resolutions as they shall
13 deem necessary for the proper government of the City.
14 It shall be the duty of the public Works Committee
15 to generally supervise the construction, operation, and main -
16 tenance of the roads, streets, side walks, and the light and
17 water plants of said City of Azusa. They shall from time to
18 time order done such necessary repairs in the matter of streets
19 and roads and light and water plants as they shall deem neo -
20 essary, and shall have general supervision over the construct -
21 ion of all new public works in said City. They shall have
22 authority between sessions of the Board of Trustees to hire
23 and disdharge all such necessary men and laborers as they may
24 deem necessary to properly carry on the public work of the
25 City. They shall have authority to recommend from time to
26 time to the Street Superintendent and to the Light and Water
27 Departments such necessary repairs, changes or work in the
28 system under their control as they may deem it advisable.
29 It shall be the duty of the Auditing and Finance
30 Committee to keep a careful and•accurate check and accounting
31 of the City's financial affairs at all times. No claim shall
32 be allowed against the City or paid until at least two members

of the Auditing and Finaace Committee have approved the same.
It shall be their duty, at least once every three months, to
make a careful and accurate accounting and audit of the finances
of each and every Department of the City, and to report to the
Board of Trustees of said City the result of said audit, and
they are hereby autliorized to employ such necessary aoc ountants
as to enable them to faithfully and diligently perform their
duties, provided however that at no time sh:.11 a majority of
the Auditing and Finance Committee and a majority of the Pur-
chasing Committee be composed of some members of the Board of
Trustees. They shall also report to the Board of Trustees, at
their re.ular meetings, the financial condition of the City,
and the Purchasing Commnittee shall at all times be In touch

of supplies Is given, to the �nfl that no suppliss be purchased

same.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the
passage of this Resolution, and the 'same shall take effect
and bn in full force after its passage.
