2 A : SOLUTION OP THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA,
3 AWARDING CERTAIN CONTRACTS FOR THEFURNISHING OF ELECTRICAL MATERIALS
4 TO THE CITY OF AZUSA AND REJECTING PROPOSALS FOR THE FURNISHING OF
5 CERTAIN MATERIALS AND DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST DEMANDS
6 THAT SAID MATERIALS BE PURCHASED IN THE OPEN I.-iARKET.

8 Section 1: Thereas the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa
9 on the days of , 1915
10 duly advertised for bids for the furnishing of certain electrical
11 material hereinafter set forth, and whereas in answer to said ad-
12 vertisement numerous and various bids or proposals were offered
13 for the performance of said work and the furnishing of said maternal ;
14 Now Therefore , the Board of Trustees hereby finds that for the fur-
15 fishing of soft drawn (solid) weather proof conductor, tripple
16 braid and for the furnishing of insulators, insulator pins, pole
17 steps, galvanized cross arm braces and strain insulators, that the
18 Pacific States :electric Company were the lowest nes; ns I b °_ ' •',
19 and said Board of Trustees hereby awards the contract for the fur-
20 nishing of said materials more particularly described in the yid
21 of the Pacific States Electric Company and herein above enumerated
22 to the Pacific States electric Company at the prices named in their
23 said proposal on file with the city clerk.
24 Section 2: That the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa
25 hereby finds that for the furnishing of galvanized steel stranded
26 guy wire, the Pacific '.'sire Rope Company was the lowest responsible
27 bidder and the contract for the furnishing of said material at the
28 price named in the proposal of said Pacific Wire Rope Company p y on

file with the city clerk is hereby awarded to the Pacific Are Rope

Company.

Section 3: The Board of Trustees of said city herebyfinds that

for the furnishing of transformers, the General Slectric Company

1 was the lowest responsible bidder and the contract for the furnish-
2 ing of said transformers in accordance with their proposals on file
3 with the city clerk and at the prices therein named is hereby
4 awarded to the General Electric Company.
5 Section 4: The city clerk and president of the board of trustees
6 are hereby authorized and directed to immediately enter into a con-
7 tract on behalf of the city of Azusa, with the said successful bid-
8 ders for the furnishing of the materials for which they were the
9 lowest bidders at the prices named in their said proposals on file
10 with the city clerk and the consulting engineer of said city, Mr.
11 F. C. Roberts, is hereby authorized and directed to order the materials
12 called for in said contracts to the extent as is required by the
13 Electric Distributing System of the city of Azusa.
14 Section 5: The Board of Trustees hereby finds that the bids or
15 proposals offered by the various bidders for erecting transmission
16 poles, stringing, conductors and doing tributary work are too high
17 and for that reason, all of the bids so offered for the performance
18 f said work are hereby rejected , and ir the on

on by said bidders may and can be performed more economically by day
22 labor and the Board of Public -iorks of the City of Azusa is hereby

authorized and directed to proceed with said work and to employ or
24 cause to be employed the necessary men to effect the erection of said
25
transmission poles, the stringing of the said conductors and the do-
26
ing of al]. tributary or incidental work thereto.

Section 6: The Board of Trustees of the city of Azusa hereby
28
Rinds that the prices named in the bids or proposals for the furnish-
29
ing of poles, cross-arms, service meters and anchor rods are too high
30
and for that reason all bids or proposals offered .An, the _ urhishi_rr*

of said materials are hereby rejected and in the opinion of the '�arc'

of Trustees the said materials can be purchased at a lower price in

2 is hereby authorized and directed on behalf of the city of Azusa
3 to purchase said materials in the open market at the best prices
4 obtainable but not to exceed in any case the price named in the
5 lowest bid for said, materials on file with the city clerk.
6 Section 7: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
7 resolution and the same shall take effect and be in force from and
8 after its passage .
