A resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Azusa awarding the contract for laying pipe and setting
special castings, valves and hydrants for the City of
Azusa in the construction,of its Munigipal�Water Distribut-
Plans therefor -adopted and,

RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees of the City of
Azusa as follows:
THAT WHEREAS the Board of Trustees of said City
pursuant to law in such cases made and provided advertised for
bids for the laying of pipe and setting special castings,
valves and hydrants incident to the construction of a Munic-
ipal Water System ice, said City, which said work was and is

i, I j WHEREAS, in answer to said advertisement, numerous and
various bids or proposals were submitted to said Board of
Trustees, which bids were publicly opened and declared and
referred to the engineer for said City for computation and
investigation; and
WHEREAS, said engineer reported to said Board that
i I Mesmer &,Rice submitted the lowest, regular responsible bid
for the laying of said pipe and the setting of said cast-
ings, valves and hydrants, in accordance with said specifi-
cations;
NOW THEREFORE, the Board of Trustees of said City here-
by .finds and declares that Meemer & Rice were and are the
lowest, regular responsible bidders for the laying of the
pipe and the setting of the special castings, valves and

hydrants provided for in said Specifications, Section B.
and by the plan adopted by said Board for said work, and
said Board of Trustees hereby awards the contract for the
same to Mesmer & Rice, at the following prices:
For the distribution of pipe and other material,
cast iron basis; tr_cnching; laying cast iron pipe; laying
riveted steel pipe; setting specials, hydrants, valves
valve boxes and covers, a total sum of Five thousand Five
Hundred and thirty-seven dollars and 951100 dollars
($5537.95)•
SECTION 2. The City Clerk and President of the
Board of Trustees of said City are hereby authorized and
directed to immediately enter into a written contract with
said Mesmer & Rice for the doing of the aforementioned
work, at tre prices hereinabove set forth and to require,
accept and approve the bonds provided for in said speci-
fications, Section B; provided that such contract shall
contain a clause covering the unit price for each portion
of the work to be done which shall govern as to any modi-
fications in the work causing additions or deductions
therein.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
