That the public interest and convenience requires 5 and the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa, did in open session, 6 on the 18th day of January 1915 at 8 o ' clock P.M. of said day, at a 7 regular meeting of said Board of Trustees, publicly open, examine 8 and declare all sealed bids or proposals offered for the following g work, to-wit: 10 (a) That a reinforced concrete culvert with wing walls for 11 entrance and outlet be constructed along the westerly side of the 12 roadway of San Gabriel Avenue, across the intersection thereof with 13 Ninth Street, excepting therefrom such portions of said street as 14 are used by the track, between the rails and fro two feet on each 15 side thereof and between the tracks, if there is more than one, of 16 any person or company having said railroad track or tracks thereon, 17 the northerly end of said culvert shall be four (4) feet northerly 18 from and parallel with the northerly line of Ninth Street and the 19 southerly end of said culvert shall be four (4) feet southerly from 20 and parallel with the southerly line of Ninth Street, and the center 21 line of said culvert shall be on a line which is parallel with and 22 distant 18 feet easterly from the westerly property line of San 23 Gabriel Avenue, in accordance with Improvement Plan No."B 30", and 24 Improvement Crass-section No. "E 100" and Plans, Details and Cross- 25 sections No. "C 20", and in further accordance with Special Specifi- 26 cations "X" for the construction of reinforced concrete culverts in 27 the City of Azusa, which specifications are set forth in Resolution 28 No. 406. 29 (b) That a reinforced concrete culvert with wing walls for en- 30 trance and outlet be constructed along the easterly side of the road- 31 way of San Gabriel Avenue across the intersection thereof with Ninth 32•"Street, excepting therefrom such portions of said street as are used -1- II A n %4.- 4 . 1 by the track, between the rails and for two (2) feet on each side 2 thereof, and between the tracks, if there is more than one, of any 3 person or company having said railroad track or tracks thereon, the 4 northerly end of said culvert shall be parallel with and distant 5 twelve (12) feet northerly from the northerly line of Ninth Street 6 and the southerly end of said culvert shall be parallel with and 7 distant four (4) feet southerly from the southerly line of Ninth 8 Street, and the center line of said culvert shall be on a line which 9 is parallel with and distant 18 feet westerly from the easterly 10 property line of said Ban Gabriel Avenue, in accordance with 11 Improvement Plan No. "B 30", Improvement Cross-sections No. "E 100", 12 and Plans, Details and Cross-sections No. "C 2$ , and in further 13 accordance with Special Specifications "X" for the construction of 14 reinforced concrete culverts in the City of Azusa, 16 which specifications are set forth in Resolution 17 No . 406. 18 (c) That two reinforced concrete culverts with wing walls for 19 entrance and outlet be constructed, one along the easterly side end 20 one along the westerly side of the roadway of Azusa Avenue across th 21 intersection thereof with Ninth Street, excepting therefrom such 22 portions of said street as are used by the track, between the rails 23 and for two feet on each side thereof, and between the tracks, if 24 there is more than one, of any person or company having said rail- 25 road track or tracks thereon, the northerly end of each of said 26 culverts shall be parallel with and four (4) feet northerly from 27 the northerly line of Ninth Street, and the southerly end of each 28 of said culverts shall be parallel with and four (4) feet southerly 29 from the soothe*+ line of Ninth Street, and the center line of each 30 of said culverts shall be wattitbactkitxszebabEercigiti on a line 31 which is parallel with and distant 14 feet from the easterly and 32 westerly property lines, respectively, of Azusa Avenue, in accord- -2- • ? i_ 1 ance with Improvement Plan No. "B 30" and Improvement Cross-sections 2 No. "E 100", and Plans, Details and Cross-sections No. "C 21", and 3 in further accordance with Special Specifications "X" for the 4 construction of reinforced concrete culverts in the City of Azusa, 5 which specifications are set forth in Resolution No. 4O6. 6 (d) That two reinforced concrete culverts with wing walls for 7 entrance and outlet be constructed, one along the easterly side and 8 one along the westerly side of the roadway of Alameda Avenue, across 9 the intersection thereof with Ninth Street, excepting therefrom such 10 portions of said street as are used by the track, between the rails 11 and fear two feet on each side thereof, and between the tracks, if 12 there is more than one, of any person or company having said railroad. 13 track or tracks thereon, the northerly end of each of said culverts 14 shall be parallel with and distant four (4) feet northerly from the 15 northerly line of Ninth Street, and the southerly endof each of said 16 culverts shall be parallel with and distant four (4) feet southerly 17 from the southerly line of Ninth Street, and the center line of 18 each of said culverts shall be on a line which is parallel with and 19 distant 18 feet from the easterly and westerly property lines, 20 respectively, of Alameda Avenue, in accordance with Improvement 21 Plan No. "B 30", and Improvement Cross-sections lo. "E 100", and 22 Plans, Details and Cross-sections No. "C 21", and in further accord- 23 ance with Special Specifications "X" for the construction of rein- 24 forced concrete culverts in the City of * usa, which specifications 25 are set forth in Resolution No. 406. 26 (e) That two reinforced concrete culverts with wing walls for 27 entrance and outlet be constructed, one along the easterly side and 28 one along the westerly side of the roadway of Dalton Avenue, across 29 the intersection thereof with Ninth Street, excepting therefrom such 30 portions of said street as are used by the track, between the rails 31 and fnr two feet on each side thereof, and between the tracks, if 32 there is more than oneofany person or company having said railroad ..3.. II • 1 track or tracks thereon, the northerly end of each of said culverts 2 shall be parallel with and distant four (4) feet northerly from the 3 northerly line of Ninth Street and the southerly end of each of said 4 culverts shall be parallel with and distant four (4) feet southerly 5 from the southerly line of Ninth Street and the center line of each 6 of said culverts shall be on a line which is parallel with and dis- 7 tARt 17.5 feet from the easterly and westerly property lines, res- 8 pectively, of Dalton Avenue, in accordance with Improvement Plan g No. "B 30", and Improvement Cross-sections No. "E 100", and Plan, 10 Details and Cross-sections No. "C 21" and in further accordance 11 with Special Specifications "X", for the construction of reinforced 12 concrete culverts in the City of Azusa, which specifications are 13 set forth in Resolution 114o. 406. 14 (f) That two reinforced concrete culverts with wing walls for 15 entrance and outlet be constructed, one along the easterly side and 16 one along the westerly side of the roadway of Soldano Avenue across 17 the intersection thereof with Ninth Street, excepting therefrom 18 such portions of said street as are used by the tracks, between the 19 rails and for two feet on each side thereof, and between the tracks, 20 if there is more than one, of any person or company having said rail 21 road track or tracks thereon, the northerly end of each of said cul- 22 verts shall be parallel with and four (4) feet northerly from the 23 northerly line of Ninth Street, and the southerly end of each of 24 said culverts shall be parallel with and four feet southerly from the 25 southerly line of Ninth Street, and the center line of each of said 26 culverts shall be on a line which is parall4 with and distant 17.5 27 feet from the easterly and westerly property lines, respectively, of 28 Soldano Avenue, in accordance with Improvement Plan No. "B 30" and 29 Improvement Cross-sections No. "E 100", and Plans, Details and Cross 30 sections No. "C 22", and in further accordance with Special Specifi- 31 cations "X" for the construction of reinforced concrete culverts in 32 the City of Azusa, wryich specifications are set forth in Resolution No. 406. ..4.. k. 1 (g) That a reinforced concrete culvert with wing walls for 2 entrance and outlet be constructed along the westerly side of the 3 roadway of Pasadena Avenue, across the intersection thereof with 4 Ninth Street, the northerly end of said culvert shall to parallel 5 with and distant four (4) feet northerly from the northerly line of 6 Ninth Street, and the southerly end of said culvert shall be parallel 7 with and distant four (4) feet southerly from the southerly line of 8 Ninth Street, and the center line of said culvert shall be on a line 9 which is parallel with and distant 18. 0 feet easterly from the wester 10 ly property line of Pasadena Avenue, excepting therefrom such per- il tions of, said street as are used by the tracks, between the rails 12 and for two feet on each side thereof, and between the tracks, if 13 there is more than one, of any person or company having said railroad 14 track or tracks thereon, in accordance with Improvement Plan No. 15 "B 30", Improvement Cross-sections No. "E 100", and Plans, Details 16 and Cross-sections Not. "C 23", and in further accordance with Special 17 Specifications "X" for the construction of reinforced concrete cul- 18 verts in the City of Azusa, which specifications are set forth in 19 Resolution No. 406. 20 (h) That two corrugated iron pipe culverts with concrete wing 21 walls for entrance and outlet, be constructed, one along the easterly 22 side and one along the westerly side of the roadway of San Gabriel 23Avrenue, the northerly end of each of said culverts shall be parallel 24 with and distant four (4) feet northerly from a line which is the 25 prolongation of the northerly right-of-way line of the Atchison, 26 Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company (Coast line0,prolonged and extend 27 ed in its usual course westerly across said San Gabriel Avenue, and 28 the southerly end of each of said culverts shall be parallel with 29 and distant four (4) feet s®utherly from a line which is the prolongs. 30 tion of the southerly right-of-way line of the Atchison, Topeka and 31 Santa Fe Railway Company (Coast line ), prolonged and extended in its 32 usual course westerly across said San Gabriel Avelino, the center line -5.. iron pipe culverts in the 7 City of Azusa, which specifications are set forth in Resolution No. 8 406. 9 (i ) That a reinforced concrete culvert at 64.0 feet in length 10 with wing walls for entrance on the northerly end and the southerly 11 end to connect to a reinforced concrete culvert already in place, be 12 constructed along the easterly side of the roadway of Azusa Avenue, 13 the northerly end of said culvert to be 26.50 feet northerly from the 14 center line of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company 15 (Coast lines right-of-way, prolonged and extended westerly across 16 said Asa Avenue, the center line of said culvert shall be ona line 17 which is parallel with and distant 13.25 feet westerly from the 18 easterly property line of Azusa Avenue, in accordance with Improve- 19 agent Plan No. "B 30", and Improvement Cross-sections No. "E 101", and 20 Plans, Details and Cross-sections No. "C 27", and in further accord- 21 ance with Special Specifications "X" for the construction of reinfor- 22 ced concrete culvert' in the City of Azusa, which specifications are 23 set forth in Resolution No. 406. 24 (j ) That two corrugated iron pipe culverts with concrete wing 25 walls for entrance and outlet be constructed, one along the easterly 261side and one along the westerly side of the roadway of Alameda Ave- 27 nue, the northerly end of each of said culverts shall be parallel 28 with and distant four (4) feet northerly from a line which is the 29 prolongation of the northerly right-of.►way line of the Atchison, 30 Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company (Coa*t line), prolonged and ex- 31 tended in itsusual course westerly across said Alameda Avenue, and 32 the southerly end of each of said culverts shall be parallel with 1 and distant (4) feet southerly concrete wing 13 walls for entrance and outlet be constructed, one along the easterly 14 side and one along the westerly side of the roadway of Dalton Avenue 15 the northerly end of each of said culverts shall be parallel with 16 and distant four (4) feet northerly from a line which is the prolonga 17 tion of the northerly right-of-way line of the Atchison, Topeka and 18 Santa Fe Railway Company (Coast line) , prolonged and extended in its 19 usual course westerly across said Dalton Avenue, and the southerly 20 end of each of said culverts shall be parallel with and distant four 21 (4) feet southerly from a line which is the prolongation of the 22 southerly right-of-way line of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe 23 Railway Company (Coast line), prolonged and extended in its usual 24 course westerly across said Dalton Avenue, the center line of each of 25 said culverts to be parallel with and distant twenty three (23) feet 26 from the center line of Dalton Avenue, in accordance with Improvement 27 Plan No. "B 30", and Improvement Cross-sections No. "E 101", and 28 Plans, Details and Cross-sections No. "C 28", and in further accord- 29 ance with Special Specifications "Y" for the construction of corruga- 30 led iron pipe culverts in the City of Azusa, which specifications are 31 set forth in Resolution No. 406. 32 4l) That two corrugated iron pipe culverts with concrete Cross-sections No. "E 101", and Plans, 2 Details and Cross-sections No. "C 28", and in further accordance 3 with Special Specifications "Y" for the construction of corrugated 4 iron pipe culverts in the City of Azusa., which specifications are 5 set forth in Resolution No. 406. 6 (n) That two corrugated iron and reinforced concrete culverts 7 with intakes and outlets be constructed, one along the easterly side 8 and one along the westerly side of the roadway of Alameda Avenue, 9 across the intersection thereof with Centre Street, the northerly en 10 of each of said culverts shall be parallel with and distant four (4) 11 feet northerly from the northerly line of Centre Street, and the sout 12 erly end of each of said culverts shall oe parallel with and distant 13 four (4) feet southerly from the southerly line of Centre Street, and 14 the center line of each of said culverts shall be on a line which 15 is parallel with and distant 17.83 feet from the easterly and westerl 16 property lines, respectively, of Alameda, Avenue, in accordance with 17 Improvement Plan No. "B 30", Plans, Details and Cross-sections No. 18 "C 26", and in further accordance with Special Specifications "Z" for 19 the construction of corrugated iron and concrete culverts in the City 20 of Azusa, which specifications are set forth in Resolution No. 406. 21 (o) That two corrugated iron and concrete culverts with intakes 22 and outlets be constructed, one along the easterly side and one along 23 the westerly side of the roadway of Dalton Avenue, across the inter- 24 section thereof with Centre Street, the northerly end of each of said 25 culverts shall be parallel with and distant four (4) feet northerly 26 from the northerly line of Centre Street, and the southerly end of 27 each of said culverts shall be parallel with and distant four (4) 28 feet southerly from the southerly line of Centre Street, and the cen- 29 ter line of each of said culverts shall be on a line which is parall , 30 with and distant 17.83 feet from the easterly and westerly property 31 lines, respectively, of Dalton Avenue, in accordance with Improvement 32 Plan No. "B 30", and Plans, Details and Cross-sections No. "C 26", and in further accordance with Special Specifications "Z" for the -g- construction of corrugated iron and concrete culverts in the City of 1 Azusa, which specifications are set forth in Resolution No. 406. 2 (p) That a corrugated iron and concrete culvert with intakes and 3 outlets be constructed along the easterly side of the roadway of 4 Soldano Avenue, across the intersection thereof with Centre Street, 5 the northerly end of said culvert shall be distant four (4) feet 6 northerly from and parallel with the northerly line of Centre Street, 7 and the southerly end of said culvert shall be parallel with and dis- 8 tant four (4) feet southerly from the southerly line of Centre Street 9 and the center line of said culvert shall be on a line which is 10 parallel with and distant 17.83 feet westerly from the easterly prope .- 11 ty line of Soldano Avenue, in accordance with Improvement Plan "No. 12 B 30" and Plans, Details and Cross-sections Bo. "C 26", and in furthe . 13 accordance with Special Specifications "Z" for the construction of 14 corrugated iron and concrete culverts in the City of Azusa, which 15 specifications are set forth in Resolution No. 406. 16 (q) That a reinforced concrete culvert be constructed along the 17 westerly side of Soldano Avenue, across the intersection thereof with 18 Centre Street, the northerly and southerly end of said culvert to 19 connect to a reinforced concrete culvert now in place, the northerly 20 end of said culvert shall be distant 8.0 feet northerly from the cen- 21 ter line of said Centre Street, and the southerly end of said culvert 22 shall be 35 feet southerly from the center line of said Centre Street, 23 and the center line of said culvert shall be on a line which is para- 24 liel with and distant 14.25 feet easterly from the westerly property 25 line of Soldano Avenue, in accordance with Improvement Plan No. "B 30 , 26 and Plans, Details and Cross-sections Bo. "C 25", and in further 27 accordance with Special specifications "X" for the construction of 28 reinforced concrete culverts in the City of Azusa, which specifica- 29 tions are set forth in Resolution iio. 406. 30 (r) That a reinforced concrete culvert be constructed along the 31 westerly side of Pasadena Avenue, across the intersection thereof 32 with Centre Street, the northerly end of said culvert shall be five ..10- II • 1 (5) feet northerly from and parallel with the northerly line of 2 Centre Street, and the southerly end of said culvert shall be five 3 (5) feet southerly from and parallel with the southerly line of said 4 Centre Street, and the center line of said culvert shall be on a line 5 which is parallel to and distant 18.33 feet) easterly from the wester- 6 ly property line of Pasadena Avenue, in accordance with Improvement 7 Plan No. Ai 30", and Plans, Details and Cross-sections No. "C 24", 8 and in further accordance with Special Specifications "X" for the 9 construction of reinforced concrete culverts in the City of Azusa, 10 which specifications are set forth in Resolution No. 406. 11 SECTION 2. That said contemplated work or improvement is in the 12lopinion of the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa of more than 13 ; local or ordinary public benefit, and said Board of Trustees hereby 14Ideclares that the district in said City of Azusa to be benefited by 15 said work or improvement, and to be assessed to pay the cost and 16 expense thereof, is hereby described as follows: 17 All that portion of the City of Azusa included within the follow . 18 ing described exterior boundary lines, to-wit: 19 Commencing at the intersedtion of the center line of Sierra ' 20 Madre Avenue with the easterly boundary line of the City of Azusa, 21 thence southerly, easterly and southerly along said City boundary 22 line to the intersection thereof with the northerly line of Fifth 23 Street; thence westerly along said northerly line of Fifth Street to 24 the intersection thereof with the center line of Cerritos Avenue, 25 south of Fifth Street, extended northerly; thence southerly along the 26 said center line of said Cerritos Avenue, extended northerly, and the 27 center line of said Cerritos Avenue, to the intersection thereof with 28 the southerly line of Lot 3, Block H, Subdivision No. 1 of Azusa 29 Land and Water Company, as per Map thereof recorded in Book 16,Page 30 18 of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California, exten 31 ed easterly; thence westerly along said south line of said Lot 3, 32 Block H, produced easterly, and along said southerly line of said -11- 1 Lot 3, Block H. , and along the south line of Lot 6, block 82, Map of 2 Azusa as per Map thereof recorded in Book 15, Page 93, Miscellaneous 3 Records of Los Angeles County, California, and its extension thereof 4 westerly, to the intersection of the center line of Pasadena Avenue 5 with the center line of Fourth Street; thence westerly along the 6 center line of Fourth Street to the intersection thereof with the 7 westerly line of Bock 54, nap of Azusa, as per Map thereof recorded 8 in Book 15, Page 93, Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, 9 California, produced southerly; thence northerly in a straight line 10 to the southwest corner of said Block 54, Map of Azusa; thence north- 11 erly along the westerly line of said Block 54 of said Nap of Azusa 12 and the extension thereof northerly to the intersection thereof with 13 the center line of Fifth Street; thence westerly in a straight line 14 along the said center line of Fifth Street, a distance of forty feet, 15 to the intersection thereof with the center line of Angeleno Avenue ; 16 thence northerly along the center line of Angeleno Avenue to the in- 17 tersection thereof with the southerly right-of-way line of the 18 Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company (coast line) ; thence 19 northerly in a straight line So the intersection of the-center line 20 of Angeleno Avenue with the northerly right-of-way line of the 21 Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company (coast line) ; thence 22 northerly along the center line of said Angeleno Avenue Bs to the 23 intersection thereof with the center line of Eleventh Street; thence 24 northeasterly in a straight line to the southeast corner of Lot 66, 25 subdivision No. 2 of Azusa Land and Water Company, as per Map there- 26 of recorded in Book 43, Page 94, Miscellanefti Records of Los 27 Angeles County, California; thence northerly along the easterly line 28 of lots 66 and 65 of said subdivision No. 2 of Azusa Land and Water 29 Company, to the intersection thereof with the center line of Sierra 30 Madre Avenue, extended westerly; thence eas erly alone ewe ter ' WA 4 31 produced center line of Sierra Madre Avenue�Ato th point of commence` 32 ment, excepting therefrom the following lots, pieces and parcels of -12- 1 land, to- wit:: Lots &, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24, 2 in Block 49, Map of Azusa, as per map thereof recorded in Book 15, 3 page 93, Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, State of Cali- 4 fornia, and Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 5 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 46, 47 and 48, in Block 30, Map of Azusa, as per 6 map thereof recorded in Book 15, page 93, Miscellaneous Records of 7 Los Angeles County, State of California, and Lots 13 to 24, inclusive 8 Block 6, said Map of Azusa; also that certain parcel of land contain- 9 ing 2.44 acres and situated in the southwest corner of Lot 78, Sub- 10 division No. 2, Azusa Land and Water Company, as per map thereof re- 11 corded in Book 43, page 94, of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles, 12 County, State of California, which parcel of land is more particular- 13 ly described in the Assessment Map for this improvement, to which 14 reference is hereby made for further description.
