RESOLUTION NO. 820
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA,
DECLARING IT TO BE TO THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, AND TO
BE TIM DESIRE AND INTENTION OF SAID CITY TO JOIN WITH THE CITIES OF
COVINA, GLENDORA, WEST COVINA, BALDWIN PARK, PUENTE, CHARTER OAK, SAN
DIMAS, AND OTHER COMMUNITIES IN THE CENTRAL SAN GABRIEL VALLEY, IN
LOS ANGELES COUNTY IN THE FORMATION OF A METROPOLITAN SEWER DISTRICT
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN OUTFALL SEWER TO CONNECT FROM THE CITY OF
AZUSA AND SAID CITIES AND COMMUNITIES::TO THE PACIFIC OCEAN.

The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa do resolve as
WHEREAS, for the past ten .years it has been a belief of the
Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa and citizens thereof that the
sewage of the said City and other cities and communities in the central
San Gabriel Valley could be most effectively disposed of by an outfall
sewer to the Pacific Ocean;
WHEREAS, the rapid and recent subdivision of the rural sections
of the central San Gabriel Valley and the increase in the density of
population thereof has rendered more apparent the necessity and has
made more imperative the disposal of the sewage of said section by and
through an outfall sewer to the Pacific Ocean;
WHEREAS, it is proposed to create a metropolitan sewer district
to include the cities of Azusa, Glendora, West Covina, Baldwin Park,
Puente, Charter Oak, San Dimas, Covina and other cities and portions
of the central San Gabriel Valley, Los Angeles County, California; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa, deem it
desirable and advisable that the City of Azusa join in the formation
of said metropolitan sewer district, for the purpose of constructing
an outfall sewer which shall connect from the central San Gabriel Valley
to the Pacific Ocean.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is desirable and that
the best interests of the City of Azusa require and the health and
sanitation of said City will be best served by the formation of a
metropolitan sewer district that will include the cities of Azusa,
Glendora, West Covina, Baldwin.Park, Puente, Charter Oak, San Dimas,
Covina and other cities and communities in the central San Gabriel
Valley in Los Angeles County, California, for the purpose of construct-
ing an outfall sewer ich shall connect the saocities and

communities in the central San Gabriel Valley in Los Angeles County,
California, for the purpose of constructing an outfall'sewer which
shall connect the said cities and communities with, and will carry
their sewage to the Pacific Ocean.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Azusa hereby declares
its intention to join it.the formation of said metropolitan sewer
district for the purpose of constructing said outfall sewer.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in order to secure unified control
in the preparation of plans for and the construction of the said out-
fall sewer, the preparation of such plans and the doing of said con-
struction be directed by the County Surveyor's Office of Los Angeles,
California.
SECTION 1. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Resolution and the same shall thereupon and thereafter be in full
force and effect.

that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the Board of Trustees
and signed by the President thereof at a regular meeting held on March
2nd, 1925, and that -the same was passed by the following vote, to -wit:
