RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
NO. 767
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA,
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO IMPROVE PORTIONS OF BARBARA, LEMON, ORAN E,
AND LOUISE AVENUES IN THE CITY OF AZUSA AND DETERMINING THAT BONDS
SH=.LL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT THE COST THEREOF.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa do resolve as
follows: `
SECTIOI4 1. That the public interest and convenience require and
that it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa
to order the following work to be done in accordance with the pro-
visions of an act of the Legislature of the State of California en-
titled "An Act to Provide for i7ork in and upon Streets, Avenues, Places
and Sidewalks within Idunicipalities" approved April 7, 1911, and all
acts supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof to -wit:
FIRST: That a cement curb be constructed along each line of
the roadway of said Barbara avenue from a line drawn across said
Barbara Avenue from the northeast corner of lot 53 of Tract No. 7625
to the northwest corner of lot 79 of Tract No. 7625 as per map re-
corede in Idap Book 73, Page 33 and 34, Records of Los Angeles County,
to a line drawn across said Barbara livenue from the southeast corner
of lot 78, Tract No. 7625 to the southwest corner of lot 104, Tract
No. 7625 as per map recorded in Map Book 73, Page 33 and 34, Records
of Los Angeles County, California, except along such portions of said
Barbara Avenue upon which a cement curb has already been constructed
and now is to be the official line and grade, in accordance with and
where shown upon the Improvement plans, profiles and cross-sections
Nos. 1024, 1025, 1026 and 1027 and in further accordance with special
specifications designated specifications Do. 1024-B, for the construc-
tion of cement curbs in the City of tizusa.
SECOND: That a cement curb be constructed along each line of
the roadway of Lemon Avenue from the south curb line of Sixth Street
to the north curb line of Fifth Street as per map of Tract No. 6604
as recorded in Map Book 74, Page 12, Records of Los Angeles County,
California except along such portions of said Lemon Avenue upon which
a cement curb has already been constructed and now is to be the official
line and grade, in accordance with and where shown upon the Improve-
ment plans, profiles and cross-sections Nos. 1024, 1025, 1626 and 1027

in further accordance with special specifications designated Specifi-
cations No. 1024-B, for the construction of cement curbs in the City of
szusa.
THIRD: That a cement curb be constructed along the west line
of the roadway of Orange avenue from the south curb line of Sixth Street
to the north curb line of Fifth Street as per map of Tract No. 6604 as
recorded in Map Book 47, Page 12, Records of Los Angeles County,
California, except along such portions of said Orange ,venue upon which
a cement curb has laready been constructed and now is to the official
line and grade, in accordance with and where shown upon the Improvement
plans, profiles and cross-sections Nos. 1024, 1025, 1026 and 1027 and in
further accordance with special specifications designated Specifications
Nos. 1024-B for the construction of cement curbs in the City of Azusa.
FOURTH: That a cement curb be constructed along each line of
the roadway of Louise Avenue from the north curb line of Sixth Street
to the southerly line of the right-of-way of the ntchison. Topeka, and
Santa Fe Railway Company (Coast Lines), as per map of 'Tract Ito. 6938
as recorded in Idap Book 78, Page 86, Records of Los Angeles County,
California, except along such portions of said Louise _:venue upon which
a cement curb has already been constructed and now is to the official
line and grade, in accordance with and where shown upon the Improve-
ment plans, profiles and cross-sections Nos. 1024, 1025, 1026 and 1027

and in further accordance with special specifications designated Specifi-
cations No. 1024-B for the construction of cement curbs in the City of
Azusa.
FIFTH: That a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width, be con -
strutted along each line of the roadway of said Barbara ::venue, from a
line drawn across said Barbara avenue from the northeast corner of lot
53 of Tract 11o. 7625 to the northwest corner of lot 79 of Tract No. 7625
as per map recorded in Map Book 73, iage33 and 34, Records of Los Angeles
County, Crlifornia , to a line drawn across said Barbara =venue from the
southeast corner of Lot 78, Tract No. 7625 to the southwest corner of
lot 104, Tract Ido. 7625 as per map recorded in I.ap Book 73, Page 33 and
34, Records of Los Angeles County, California, except along such por-

SIXTH: That a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width,
be constructed along each line of the roadway of said Lemon :ivenue
from the south curb line of Sixth Street to the north curb line of
Fifth Street as per map of 'Tract Do. 6604 as recorded in Map Book
47, Page 12, Records of Los t,ngeles County, California, except
along such portions of said Lemon ilvenue upon which a cement side-
walk five (5) feet in width, has already been constructed and now
is to the official line and grade, in accordance with and where
shown upon the Improvement plans, profiles and cross-sections Nos.
1024, 1025, 1026 and 1027 and in further accordance with special
specifications designated Specifications Do. 1024 A, for the con-
struction of cement sidewalks in the City of Azusa.
SEVEDTH. That a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width,
be constructed along the west line of the roadway of Orange ivenue
from the south curb line of Sixth Street to the north curb line of
Fifth Street as per map of Tract IJo. 6604 as recorded in Map Book
47, Page 12, Records of Los _ingeles County, California, except
along such portions of said Orange Avenue, upon which a cement
sidewalk five (5) feet in width, has already been constructed and
now is to the official line and grade, in accordance with and where
shown upon the Improvement plans, profiles and cross-sections Dos.
10249 1025, 1026 and 1027 and in further accordance with special
specifications designated :specifications IJo. 1024-1:, for the con-
struction of cement sidewalks in the City of kzusa.
EIGHTH: That a cement sidewalk, five (5) feet in width,
be constructed along each line of roadway of Louise :;venue from
the north curb line of Sixth Street to the southerly line of the
right-of-way of the :.tchison. Topeka, and ,ants Pe iiailway Company,
(Coast Lines), as per map of Tract IJo. 6938 as recorded in Idap
Book 78, Page 86, Records of Los Angeles County, California, ex-
cept along such portions of said Louise ::venue upon which a cement
sidewalk five (5) feet in width, has already been constructed and
now is to the official line and grade, in accordance with and
where shown upon the Improvement plans, profiles and cross-sections
Nos. 1024, 1025, 1026 and 1027 and in further accordance with speciri
specifications des *ated Specifications No. 104-A, for the 205
construction of cement sidewalsk in the City of Azusa.
SECTION 2. That the Board of Trustees of the City of
Azusa determine that serial bonds shall be issued to represent
assessment of twenty-five (25.00) Dollars or over for the cost of
said work or improvement; said serial bonds shall extend over a
period ending nine (9) years from and after the second day of Jan-
uary next succeeding the date of said bonds, and an even annual
propoortion of said principal sum thereof shall be payable, by cou-
pon, on the second day of January every year after their date until
the whole is paid; and the interest shall be payable semi-annually,
by coupon, on the second days of January and Jly, respectively, of
each year, at the rate of seven (7) per cent per annum on all sums
unpaid until the whole of said principal and interest are paid.
Said bonds shall be issued in accordance with the provisions of an
act of the Legislature of the State of California, entitled, "An
act to provide for the issuance of improvement bonds to represent
and be secured by certain assessment made for the cost of certain
work and improvements made in and upon streets, avenues, lanes,
alleys, courts, places and sidewalks within municipalities and upon
property and rights of way owned by municipalities, to provide for
the collection of such assessments, the sale of the property affected
thereby and for the payment of boards so issued." Approved June 11,
1915, and all acts supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof.
SECTION 3. All improvement plans, profiles and cross-sections
hereinbefore mentioned are hereby made a part of this re:.olution and
are referred to for a more particular description of said work, and
made a part thereof.
All specifications referred in this resolution are on file
in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Azusa.
All improvement plans, profiles and cross-sections referred
to in this resolution are on file in the office of the City Engineer
of the City of Azusa.
All streets referred to in this resolution are public streets
in the Cite of Azusa.
SECTION 4. The Superintendent of Streets of the City of
Azusa shall post notices of said work as required by law, and shall
cause the same to be published once in the Pomotropic, a weekly news-
paper printed, published and rircula ted in said City of Azusa and

hereby* designated ff that purpose.
SECTION 5. All objections or protests on the part of the
property owners to the above improvements should be made in writing
to the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa and placed on file
with the City Clerk on or before the hour of the day set for the
hearing of said protest or objections by the said Board of Trustees
of the City of "zusa which hearing shall be the 7 day of April,
1924 at 7:30 P. M. in the council chamber of the City Ball of the
City of Azusa at the northeast corner of Centre and Z.lameda Streets.
No other protests shall be considered.
SECTION G. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and shall cause the same to be published by two
insertions in the Pomotropic, a weekly newspaper printed, published
and circulated in the City of ..zusa, and hereby designated by the
Board of Trustees of said City of .'.zusa, for that purpose, and shall
post the same conspicuously for two days on or near the chamber door
of the place of meeting of the Board of Trustees of said City and
thereupon and thereafter the same shall take effect and be in force.
The foregoing resolution was adopted at a regular meet-
ing of the Board of Trustees of the City of ..zusa held on the 17th
day of March, 1924, by the affirmative vote of at least three trust-
ees of said city, to -wit:

ABSENT: None.
