HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 7662®Q • • C7 L RESOLUTION NO. 766 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA. CALIFORNIA, CALLING A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON THE -14th DAY OF APRIL, 1924, GIVING A GENERAL DES- CRIPTION -OF THE VOTING PRECINCT AND LOCATION OF THE POLLING. PLACE, APPOINTING. THE ELECTION OFFICERS'THEREFOR AND DIRECTING NOTICE TO BE GIVEN OF SUCH ELECTION AS REQUIRED BY LAW. The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa do resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That there shall be held in the City of Azusa on Monday, the 14th day of April, 1924, a general municipal election by the qualified electors of the City of Azusa for the purpose of electing the following City Officers, to -wit: Two members of the Board of Trustees for Four (4) year terms, City Clerk, City Treasurer. SECTION 2. That the number of voting precincts for the pur- pose of holding said election shall be one, and that said Consoli- dated Election Precinct A, shall consist of the entire City of Azusa being Azusa City Precincts Numbers 1-2 and 3 of the regular State and County election, and the polling place for said Consoli- dated Election Precinct A, is hereby located at the City Hall on the Northeast corner of Centre Street and Alameda Avenue in the City of Azusa. And the Board of Election for such Consolidated Election Precinct A, is hereby appointed as follows: Inspector: Judges. Clerks: Thomas A. Smith William W. Heth Theresa A. Mayse Henry 0. Williams Alice L. Pettyiohn SECTION 3. That the polls for said election must be opened at 6 o'clock A. M. of the day of the election and must be kept open until 7 o'clock P. M. of the same day when the polls shall be closed; except and provided, however, that, if, at the hour of closing there are any other voters in the polling place or in line at the door who are qualified to vote and have not been able to do so since appearing the polls shall be kept open a sufficient time to enable them to vote. That the above named persons on said Board of Election are hereby appointed to such officers respectively and their compensation shall be Eight (48.00) Dollars each for all services. SECTION 4. That notice of said election and list of nominees shall be published by the City Clerk as required by law. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of the Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. Adopted this 3rd day of ?larch, 1924. ATTEST: L.
