The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa
met in regular session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Trustees: Moon, Case, Meier,
Peirce. Utz City Clerk and City Attorney. Absent:
Trustee: Chenoweth.
The minutes of the meeting held July 16th were
read and approved as read.

It was moved and carried that the request of the

The following Resolution was presented and unanimous-
ly adopted.
RESOLVED;
WHEREAS, Almighty God in his infinite
wisdom has taken from the Nation its beloved leader
and President, Warren G. Harding; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Azusa, through
its Board of Trustees in regular meeting assembled
desire to express its deep and heartfelt grief and
sorrow and extend its loving sympathy to Mrs. Harding;
and,

' MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AUGUST 6th; 1923
WHEREAS, President Coolidge has set aside
Friday, the 10th day of August, 1923 as a day of
surcease from business and for national mourning;
NOW THEREFORE: Be it resolved, that it is
the wish of this Board that said day be so observed,
and this Resolution be given due publicity by cir-
culization in said City of Azusa. And be it further
resolved that a copy of this Resolution be forward-
ed to Mrs. Harding.
