A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA ORDERING THE IMPROVEMENT OF FOOTHILL
.BOULEVARD AND CERTAIN PORTIONS OF. OTHER STREETS
AND AVENUES IN SAID CITY.

The.City Council of the City of .Azusa does resolve as
follows:
SECTION I.
That the public interest and convenience require the
work hereinafter described to be done, and therefore the.said City
Council hereby -orders. -the following work to be.done and improvement
to be made in said. City, to -wit;
All of the work and improvement -proposed by and described
.in Resolution of Intention No. 1158 passed and adopted by the City
Council.of the City of Azusa on the 5th day of August, 1929, said
work embracing'the grading, construction of certain Willite
Processed Asphaltic pavement, cement cnncrete gutters, cement

concrete curbs ,•,cement concrete sidewalks, cement pipe ser+ers,
cast iron pipes, fire hydrants and other fittings and appurtenances
for supplying and distributing domestic water supply and for fire
protection, lighting posts and suitable and necessary appliances
for street lighting purposes, concrete pipe storm drain and other
improvements upon portions of Foothill -Boulevard; Virginia Avenue,
Fifth Street, Lemon Avenue,`Orange Avenue, Sunset Avenue, Angeleno
Avenue, San Gabriel Avenue, Alameda,Avenue, Azusa Avenue, Dalton
Avenue, S,oldano Avenue, Pasadena Avenue and Cerritos Avenue. Said
work is more fully and more"particularly described in the aforesaid
Resolution. of Intention on file'in the office of. the Clerk of the
said City of Azusa. For further particulars and for:.the full
description of the said work, reference is hereby made to the said
Resolution of Intention for the said work, and to the plans,

profiles, cross sections, detailed drawings and specifications,
therefor on file in the office of the.City Clerk of the said'City
of Azusa, all. of which are referred to in the said Resolution of
Intention and all of which are incorporated herein and made a part
hereof, and reference thereto is her.eby,made for the.full and
particular description of the said work.,
Reference is also hereby made. to the Willits Processed
Asphaltic Mixtures Patent License Agreement of the California
-Willite Company, dated August 5, 1929; and to the Marbelite Type
No. 2560-M Centrifugally Cast Cement. Concrete Lighting Standard
Patent License,Agreement of the Marbelite Corporation of -America,
dated August 5,' 1929) both of which'patent License Agreements are
on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Azusa.-
-SECTION II.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN' that serial bonds to represent_
unpaid assessments and bear interest at.the.rate of six (6) per
cent per annum will be issued hereunder in.the manner provided
by the Improvement Bond Act of 1915, the -last installment of which
bonds shall mature fourteen.(14) years from the 2nd day of July
next succeeding ten (10) months from•their date. For a particular
description of said bonds, reference is hereby made to said
Resolution of Intention.'
SECTION III.•
Said City Council also determines and declares that the
contemplated work and improvement hereinbefore.mentioned.is, in
the opinion of said City Council of more than local or ordinary
public benefit and the'expenses of said work and improvement, less
amount to•be.paid by the said City as hereinafter mentioned, is.
made chargeable on the district described in the Resolution of
Intention hereinbefore referred to. The City Council of -said City

also determines and.declares that a part of the costs and expenses
of said improvement, namely;:the sun.of Fifty;Thousand (50,000.00)
Dollars, be Paid from the Foothi•11 Boulevard Improvement. Fund of.
the Treasury,of said City of Azusa, and the remaining costs and
expenses of said improvement to be assessed upon -.the district
hereinbefore referred to. For a particular. description of said
sum to be paid out of the City Treasury, reference is hereby made
to said Resolution.of Intention.
SECTION.IV.
That sealed bids for said work shall be.received up to
'7:30 o'clock,•P.M. of the 4th day of September, 1929, at'which
time said bids will be publicly opened, examined and declared by
this.Council.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to post a notice in-
viting sealed bids for said work; with' the specifications therefor,
conspicuously. for five (5) days on or near the Council Chamber
-door of this Council, and to publish a like notice,' referring to
.the specifications posted or on file,.twice in the Azusa Herald,
a weekly newspaper printed, published -and circulated in said City;
and hereby'designated for that purpose,(there being no daily
newspaper printed,:published and circulated in,said C,ity).
