A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY.COUNCIL.OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA APPOINTING A TIME AND PLACE FOR'
HEARING PROTESTS IN RELATION TO THE PROPOSED
I11PRCVEMENTS CONTEMPLATED BY RESOLUTION OF
INTENTION NO. 1141 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF SAID
CITY, PASSED 017 JUNE 3rd, 1929.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Azusa did,
on the 3rd day of June; 1929, pass a resolution, being Resolution
No. 1141, entitled, ".A Resolution of the City Council of the City
of Azusa declaring its intention to order the planting, protection
and maintenance of trees along and in certain portions of Pasadena
Avenue and other streets and avenues within said City, under the
"Tree Planting -Act of 191511, and
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 1141 directed the City
Engineer to make and file with the City Clerk and Ex -officio Clerk
of the City Council a.report in.writing presenting plans and spe-
cifications for the work to be performed, and estimate of cost of
the improvement including the incidental expenses in connection
therewith and the annual cost of maintenance thereof for a period
of five (5) years, a diagram of the property affected or benefited
by the proposed work or improvement and to be assessed to.pay the
costs and expenses thereof, and an assessment of the total amount
of the costs and expenses of the proposed improvement;and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has filed with the City Clerk
and Ex -officio Clerk of the City Council of said City the aforesaid
plans and specifications, estimates.of cost, diagram and assess -
menta, as directed in said Resolution of Intention No. 1141; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk and Ex -officio Clerk of the City
Council of said City has presented said plans, specifications,

sideration; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Azusa,
as follows;

That this City Council hereby fixes Tuesday, the 3rd day
of September, 1929, at 7;30 o'clock, P.M. as -the time, and the
Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City as the place for
hearing protests in.relation to the proposed improvements, as pro-
vided in Resolution of,Intention No. 1141, and the City Clerk and
Ex -officio Clerk of the City Council of said City is hereby directed
to give notice. of said hearing. The Azusa Herald, a weekly .
newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City is hereby
designated as the newspaper in which said notice shall be published.
The Superintendent of Streets of said City shall cause
to be conspicuously posted along all streets, avenues, lanes, alleys,
courts, places and pathways, or parts thereof included in said
Resolution No. 1141, at not more than 300 feet in distance apart,
but not less than 3 in all, upon each such street,- avenue, lane,
alley, court, place and pathway, notices of the passage of said
Resolution of Intention and of the filing of said report, and shall
also cause a notice similar in substance to be published by one
insertion in the Azusa Herald, a weekly newspaper printed, published
and circulated in said City (there being no daily newspaper pub-
lished in said City), all in the manner and form required by law.
FOR FURTHER PARTICULARS regarding said work and im-
provement, reference is hereby made to the aforesaid Resolution of
Intention No. 1141, and to the report,of the City Engineer, on file
in the office of the City Clerk and Ex -officio Clerk of the City
Council of said City.
