The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa
met in regular session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Trustees: Moon, Meier, Case,
Chenoweth, Pierce, City Attorney and City Clerk.
Absent: None.

The minutes of the meeting held August 6th and/the
regular adjourned meeting held August 13th were
read and approved as read.
A letter from the Railway Commission relative .to
work ordered by them was read and referred to the
'Consulting Engineer, Mr. Barker.
On motion duly carried the request of Irene B.
Barnes and Jack Pierce for two weeks vacation
commencing Sept. 4th, 1923, and the request of
H. Maeding for two weeks commencing Sept. let,
1923 were granted.

The following Ordinance was presented:
AN ORDINANCE CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE
HELD IN THE CITY OF AZUSA, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES,
STATE OF CALIFORNIA, ON THE 26TH DAY OF SEPTEM-
BER, 1923, AND SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS
OF SAID CITY THE PROPOSITION OF INCURRING A BONDED
DEBT IN THE SUM OF THIRTY-FIVE THOUSAND (35,000.00)
DOLLARS FOR THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION, REPAIR,
MAINTENANCE AND COMPLETION BY THE SAID CITY OF
AZUSA OF THE FOLLOWING MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENTS, TO -
WIT: THE ACQUISIT@ON, CONSTRUCTION, REPAIR, MAIN-
TENANCE AND COMPLETION OF STREET WORK UPON THE
PUBLIC STREETS OF THE CITY OF AZUSA: PROVIDING FOR
THE ISSUE OF BONDS THEREFOR :_14D FOR THE LEVY OF A
TAX FOR THE PAYMENT OF SAID BONDS: DESIGNATING
THE ELECTION PRECINCT AND POLLING PLACE, AND APPOINT-
ING THE ELECTION OFFICERS FOR SAID ELECTION.
It was moved that the same be taken up for its second
reading.
Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon,
Case, Chenoweth, Pierce, Meier. Noes: None. Absent:
None.
The Ordinance was read.
ORDINANCE NO.. 222
ADOPTED.
On motion duly carried the Ordinance was declared read
for the second time and taken up for its third read-
ing and final passage.

It was moved that the Ordinance be adopted as read.

prepare an agreement for the use of WATER AGREEMENT BETWEEN
the City of Azusa and the Union Rock CITY OF AZUSA & UNION ROCK
CO.
The matter of drafting an Ordinance changing the
water rates was referred to the City Attorney in
conjunction with the Water Superintendent and the
Consulting Engineer to submit to the Board for its
approval.
It was moved that Mr. Pierce be authorized to em-
ploy an assistant to the Revenue Collector for
special work at a cost not to exceed $25.00

Meier, Case, Chenoweth, Pierce, Noes: None. Absent:
None.

The following Resolution was presented:
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, CALIFORNIA PROVIDING FOR THE TRANSFER OF 900
FROM THE LIGHT RIND TO THE GENERAL FUND AND 650070—M
THE WATER FUND TO THE GENERAL FUND.
