A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA RATIFYING PAYMENT OF CL�.IMS ON 30NDS AND
COUPONS PAID BY CITY TREASURER.
The City Council of the City of Azusa do
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS the following street improvement
bonds and coupons have been paid by the City Treasurer
from the General Fund without having been first passed
upon by the City Council to -wit:
Angeleno Avenue - Street Improvement

Angeleno Avenue - Street Improvement

WPTEREAS the City is obligated for said
coupons and bonds,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT xIESOLVED that the above
and foregoing claims are hereby approved and the pay-
ment thereof ratified.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution
was duly adopted at a regular meeting of the Oity Council
on September 4, 1928, by the following vote of the Council:
AYES : Councilmen: Demmitt, Stone, Smith, Dilley,
Howard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.

Briquettes one (1) inch sgdaxe in section, made of one (1) part
cement to three (3) parts standard_ testing sand, shall attain a min-
inum tensile strength as follows: —
At 7 days (1 day in moist air, 6 days in water) 175 lbs.
At 28 days (1 day in moist air, 27 days in water) 250 lbs.
(D) SOUZDNESS: Pats of neat cement about three (3) inches in
diameter, one-half (z) inch thio: at the center and ta-pering to a
thin edge, will be kept in moist air for a period of twenty-four (24)
hours.
A pat will then be kept n air at normal tem_Derature and observed_
at interials for at least twenty-eight (28) days.
Another pat will, after having been dept twenty-four .(.24) hours
in moist air, be placed in water at normal temperature. The water
shall then be heated to boiling temperature and maintained there for
three (3) hours.

Samples of theeceraenttpro-aosed to be used upon any piece of the
work wj.l1 be furnished to the City Engineer, for test, and any cement,
the samples of which do not come up to the required standard, shall
be immediately removed from the work.
SAND: All sand must be clean, sharp and free from oil or organic
matter and must not contain more than five (5) percent by weight of
clay, mica, or silt.
STONE SCREENING: Store screenings shall be such as are obtained
in the crushing of clean, hard aiad durable stone, and shall be that
portion which has passed through a quarter O inch mesh screen.
GRAVEL: Gravel shall be clean, hard, durable material and shall
be of size ranggrt4, from a quarter (_) inch minimum to a size of
four (4) inches maxiinii'm. Not less than thirty (30) percent of its
volume shall be material which will pass a three-quarter (4) inch
screen.
BROKEN STONE: Bro:c> stone shall be the run of the crusher,
except, however, that not more than five (5) percent of its volume
shall be material which will pass through a quarter (4) inch mesh
screen and not less than thirty (30) percent of its tolume shall be
material which will pass a three-quarter (!)__inch screen. It shall
be clean, hard, paid durable in quality nd shall range in size from
the minimum noted above up to that which will pass a three (3) inch
screen.
