A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA APPOINTING MRS. E. M. AGUILAR POLICE WOMAN
IN THE CITY OF AZUSA NITHOUT PAY.
The City Council of the City of Azusa do
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS certain residents of the Mexican
Colony of the City of Azusa have petitioned the City
Council of said City requesting that Mrs. E. M.
Augilar of said City be appointed to the police De-
partment of said City without pay, with special
authority and direction to supervise the dances and
festivities given in said City by the Union Mutualista
de San Jose, incorporated, so that said festivities
may be operated within the ordinances of said City,
and
WHEREAS the City Council believes it is
for the best interest of the City and particularly
the Mexican Colony thereof;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said
written request be granted and that Mrs. E. M.
Aguilar be and she is hereby appointed as a member of
the Police Department of said City, without pay from
the City, and that her duties be confined and restrict-
ed to supervision and overseeing the festivities and
dances of the Mexican Colony and particularly those
given by the Union Mutualisto de San Jose, incorporated.
I hereby certifyy that the foregoing resolution
was duly adopted by the �,ity Council at a regular meet-
ing held August 20, 1928, by the following vote of the
Council:
AYES: Councilmen: Demmitt, Stone, Smith,
Dilley, Howard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
