HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 1090RESOLUTION NO. 10, 90 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ORDERIIG Tial WORE TO BE DOPE AND ItIPROVEMET TO BE ;BADE UPON AZUSA AND SAN GABRIEL AVENUES IN ACCORDANCE WITH RESOLUTION OF IP:TEDTIOE NO. 1081. 17hereas the City Council of the City of Azusa did on the 2nd day of April, 1928, pass its Resolution of Intention No. 1081 to order the hereinafter de- scribed work to be done and improvement to be made in said city which Resolution of Intention was duly and legally published as required by law, as appears from the affidavit of Vim. N. Barnard now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city; and whereas, notices of the passage of said Resolution of Intetition No. 1061 headed "Notice of Improvement" were duly and legally posted along the line of said contemplated work and improvement and in front of all the property liable to be assessed therefor, and on and along each and every open street and highway in the assessment district described in said Resolution of Intention, in time, form, manner and number as required by law, after the passage of said Resolution of Intention, as appears from the affidavit of Arthur Wolfe, Street Superintendent who personally posted the same, and who, upon the completion of the posting of said notices, forthwith filed said affidavit in the office of the clerk, making oath that he commleted the posting of said notices on the 2-671h day of April, 1928; and whereas,. all protests or objections presented have been heard and disposed of in time, form and manner as required by law, and said City Co-aacil having now acquired jurisdiction to order the proposed improvement, it is hereby 2230LVLD, that the public interest and convenience require the work herein described and the City Council of the City of Azusa hereby orders the folloc.ing work to be done and improvement to be made in s: -id city, to -wit: That cement sidewalks and curbs be constructed or reconstructed unon .Izusa —venue and upon San Gabriel ..venue as shown upon and in accordance with Plan ::o. 1057 and as described in Resolution of Intention_ No. 1081 and all other work described therein reference to which is hereby made for further particulars. The City Clerk is hereby instructed to post a notice of said work, together with the plans and specifications therefor, conspicuously for five days on or near the council chamber door, of said city inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing the work ordered. Said clerk is also directed to publish tvice, a notice inviting such proposals, and referring to the specifications posted or on file, in the Azusa Journal, a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said city and hereby designated for that purpose. All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a check payable to the City of Azusa certified by a responsible bank for an amount which shall not be less than ten per cent of the aggregate of the proposal, or by a bond for the said amount and so payable, signed by the bidder and two sureties, whQ,shall justify, before any officer competent to administer an oath, in double the -said amount, and over and above all statutory exemptions. Said sealed proposals or.bids shall be delivered to the ex -officio clerk of the Council of said city, on or before 7:30 o'clock P.I".., on Monday the Z/s l" day of �%/ o y , 1926, said time being not less than ten days from the time of the first posting and publication of the notice of said work and inviting sealed proposals, on which day and hour all proposals or bids will be publicly opened by said Council.
