HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 10720 0 • RESOLUTION NO. 1072 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA CALLING A GE14ERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON THE 9TH DAY OF APRIL, 1928, GIVING A GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE VOTING PRECINCT AND LOCATION OF THE POLLING PLACE, APPOINTING THE ELECTION OF- FICERS THEREFORE AND DIRECTING NOTICE TO BE GIVEN OF SUCH ELECTION AS REQUIRED BY LAW. The City Council of the City of Azusa do resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That there shall be held in the City of Azusa on Monday the 9th day of April, 1928, a general municipal election by the qualified electors of the said City of Azusa for the purpose of electing the following City Officers, to -crit: Two members of the City Council for four (4) year terms. One City Clerk One City Treasurer I lA SECTION 2. That the number of voting pre- cincts for the purpose of holding said election shall be "one", and that said Consolidated Election Precinct "A", shall consist of the entire City of Azusa, being Azusa City Precincts Numbers 1, 21 30 4 and 5 of the regular State and County election, and the polling place for said Consolidated Election Precinct "A", is hereby located in the Auditorium of the new City Hall on Block 30, in said City of Azusa, California, between Alameda Avenue and Dalton Avenue. That the Board of Election for such Consolidat- ed Election Precinct "A", is hereby appointed as follows: Inspector: H. O._Williams Judges: Mrs. Nettie Dingman H. A. Green Clerks: Mrs. Marie Pettyjohn S. G. Durrell SECTION 3. That the polls of said election must be opened at six o'clock A. M. of the same day of the election and must be kept open until seven o'clock P. M. of the same day when the polls shall be closed; except and provided, however, that if, at the hour of closing there are any other voters in the polling place or in line at the door who are qualified to vote and have not been able to do so since their appearing, the polls shall be kept open a suf- ficient time to enable them to vote. That the above named persons on said Board of Election are hereby appointed to such offices respectively and their compensation shall be eight ($8.00) dollars each, for all services. -1- SECTION 4. That notice of said election and list of nominees shall be published by the City Clerk as required by law. SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting held -March 5, 19289 by the following vote of the Council: AYES: Councilmen: Howard, Martin, Meier, Chenovieth, Durrell.
