Io u A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ORDERING THE WORK AND IMPROVEMENT TO BE MADE UPON PORTIONS OF SANTA FE AND DALTON AVENUES IN ACCORDANCE WITH RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1031, AND DETERMINING THAT BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT THE COST THEREOF. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Azusa did on the 6th day of September, 1927, pass its Resolution of Intention No. 1031 to order the hereinafter described work to be done and improvement to be made in said City which Resolution of Intention was duly and legally published as re- quired by law, as appears from the affidavit of 4Rn. N. Barnard now on file in the office of the Clerk of said City; and WHEREAS, notices of the.passage of said Resolu- tion of Intention No. 1031 headed "Notice of Improvement" were duly and legally posted along the line of said contem- plated work and improvement and in front of all the property liable to be assessed therefor, and on and along each and every open street and highway in the assessment district des- cribed in said Resolution of Intention, in time, form, manner and number as required by law, after the passage of said Resolution of Intention, as appears from the affidavit of Thomas Lee, who personally posted the same, and who, upon the completion of the posting of said notices, forthwith filed said affidavit in the office of the City Clerk, making oath that he completed the posting of said notices on the 19th day of September, 1927; and WHEREAS, all protests or objections presented • have been heard and disposed of in time, form and manner as required by law, and said City Council having now acquired jurisdiction bo order the proposed improvement, it is hereby RESOLVED, that the public interest and convenience require the work herein described and the Council of the City of Azusa hereby orders the following work to be done and im- provement to be made in said City, towit: That cement sidewalk, curb, oiled macadam pave- ment be constructed and that trees be planted upon Santa Fe Avenue as described in Resolution of Intention No. 1031 and as shown on Plan No. 1073. That oiled macadam pavement be constructed and that trees be planted upon Dalton Avenue as described in said Resolution of Intention No. 1031, and as shown on said Plan No. 1073. The City Clerk is hereby instructed to post a notice of said work, together with the plans and specifications therefor, conspicuously for five days on or near the council chamber door, of said City inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing the work ordered. Said clerk is also directed to publish twice, a notice inviting such proposals, and referring to the specifications posted or on file, in the Pomotropic, a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said City and hereby designated for that.purpose. All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a check.payable to the City of Azusa certified by a responsible bank for an amount which shall not be less than ten per cent of the aggregate of the proposal, or by a bond for the said amount and so payable, signed by the bidder and two sureties, who shall justify, before any officer competent to administer an oath, in double the said amount, and over and above all statutory exemptions. , Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered to the ex -officio clerk of the Council of said City, on or -1- E • 0 b £ore 7:30 o'clock , 1927, ys from-Eh'e time of the notice of sa on which day and ho publicly opened by P.M., on Monday the _? day of said time being not le s than ten of the first posting and publication id work and inviting sealed proposals ar all proposals or bids will be said Council.
